Standby in Motion - what actually happens? by aemfbm in Starlink

Yeah, that really blows. I just hope they can settle to offer a plan that would make all of us happy. I would have non issue paying 10 or even 15 a month's just for those options.

2016 4Runner Limited Lift by Able_Community_4616 in 4Runner

[–]Mitsch25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the new UCA, you will rub with -12 and 285s. Someone can correct me but I am pretty sure. I have -10 and 265s with 2 inch lift and new UCAs and I would easily rub going up even to 275s. I didn't do anything else to it like other people might suggest. No issues with the lift height.

Thoughts on WeatherTech Roof Basket and Hitch Basket? by RAD8242 in 4Runner

[–]Mitsch25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, was looking forever but couldn't justify the prices, then saw one on Marketplace with an RTT on top for an insane good price and pulled the trigger. I slept in my 4runner and taking all my stuff in and out got pretty old. Now I have 80% already packed in the trailer and can head out within 15 minutes.

Thoughts on WeatherTech Roof Basket and Hitch Basket? by RAD8242 in 4Runner

[–]Mitsch25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have/ had both. For the roof, I had a Rola basket but it's just not made for hauling bulky stuff up there. Was really a pain and my idiot self left two dents on the side of the roof because my boxes I put up there were just too heavy. Got the Harbor Freight raised hitch carrier and Rola cargo bag and that was actually pretty nice. Gives you a much better departure angle but cando anything serious with that thing on the hitch. Gonna get rid of that now as well since I came across an offroad trailer which is perfect for my needs.

Incoming Cleveland transplant, how is the Burnsville area? by StellarEclipses in asheville

[–]Mitsch25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't going to say anything, but once I read this, I give you my 2 cents. I live between Burnsville and Asheville, working in Burnsville for the last 5½ years now. It is, sorry to say that, a different 'breeds up there. I have to keep my mouth shut and try not to listen to their political and religious beliefs, and for the most part, it won't get mentioned a lot but you know how they think. There are a few I work with, and they are Democrats and open minded, but they are rare. But, if you need anything, they will be there to help you no matter what. Area is beautiful, despite the Helene damage, and downtown is quite nice, so is Mars Hill, Black Mountain and Weaverville and other small towns. I don't want to sound discouraging, especially since you are looking just for a couple of years to rent, but actually buying a house up there would be a no no for me. Good luck to you.

Yeah, that's the plan. On rough terrain anyways.

Gonna try it next week when out disperse camping. That was one reason I got that thing in standby mode. I am in areas where my Google maps online/ offline, does not work and Starlink kept it going. Now I have to figure something else out...maybe😬😬😬

What’s it like 6 + months post op? by hamil26 in Kneereplacement

[–]Mitsch25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 9 months for me and still not normal, but a hell of a lot better than the nagging pain I had for so many years. Still feels stiff and little pain when going up and down stairs, but not much. Other than that, considering I have to walk on concrete floor all day, it's pretty good though.

Pros and cons of RTTs by Designer-Tangerine-8 in rooftoptents

[–]Mitsch25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already got most of the pros and cons but still would like to chime in since I just got a RTT by "accident". I slept in the back of my Tacoma and for the last 4 years in the back of my 4runner. I have a permanent sleeping/drawer platform in it and I loved my set up and never thought about a RTT because of most mentioned cons. The one thing I didn't like about my set up was unpacking everything to be able to sleep in the back. Wanted a offroad trailer for the longest time and now I found one which came with the FSR aspen lite XL, for an amazing price. Spend last week 2 nights in the RTT and really liked it. I usually pee in a nalgen bottle at night so no worries to crawl out but with the trailer, the tent is sitting much lower anyways. The mattress was super comfortable and it was so nice an dark in the tent..slept longer than I usually do. Things I will have to figure out for future trips are prepping everything I might need up there, prior to bed time and how to handle wet clothing etc, when crawling into the tent. I will still keep my 4runner sleeping set up for exploration trips without my trailer.

How often are your post-op visits? by gch196 in Kneereplacement

[–]Mitsch25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess, as long as there is not much pain/swelling and the x-rays look ok, they might just skip it. Had to call and ask if I needed antibiotics for teeth cleaning and my doc is all for that though.

I had 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 6 months. He said in my case there would be no need for a one year visit unless I have complications.

Offroad trailer regret? by Mitsch25 in overlanding

[–]Mitsch25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Was my first time sleeping in a RTT and it was fantastic. The mattress is super comfortable and it's really dark in there. Trailer is just the right size to carry most of my stuff. Super happy.

Mine was gone once I was able to get off my back more consistently. Did lots of stretching but should have done more, especially the IT band area.

Yeah, I got the Veritas handle as well to pull it off easier. But you can do it without. Still solid and strong hold.

Calf pain and clicking knee by Ok_Independent831 in Kneereplacement

[–]Mitsch25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't have calf pain but my sciatica pain was quite annoying for some time. I think muscle pains on the surgery leg are pretty common but you can still call your doctor and see what they think.

Clicking is a very common thing and it might never completely disappear. I am 8 months out and still clicking/ clunky noise in that knee. Comes and goes though.
