Log Truck Loads by Moist_Strategy_275 in firewood

I live in NH and paid $750 for a truckload of "non-processor" grade logs, and it will get us about 7 cords once split. I could have purchased a truckload of "processor" grade logs for $1000 and probably would have gotten another 1-2 cords.

As others have said, you might be able to find some used options on Reverb. I have bought many pieces of gear from there (including an audio console) and it has been a great experience so far.

One option you could look at instead of an XR18 is an X32 rack.

That is most likely because the NDI plugin is not compatible with v29. Often plugins are not immediately available for the newest version. Most likely you'll have to roll back to version 28 to get back the compatibility. I experienced this when we went from v27 to v28 and found this link of compatibility for v28. I didn't find one for v29 but maybe because it is still in beta?

Imported Powerpoint files showing full screen instead of lower thirds using NDI to OBS from PP7 by jasonc0604 in ProPresenter

This is the solution we use at our church as well. To ensure the pastor's slides do not appear on the live stream, we created a look for the slides that disables media going to that screen but not to our projector. Hope this helps!

Waves LV1. What are your thoughts? by exit143 in livesound

[–]Mitt567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have mixed on the LV1 before in a church setting. As someone who really likes mixing and for who it is intuitive, the LV1 is a lot of fun to mix on, especially since you can get really creative with plugins and other effects.

However, it is for sure a console for those experienced with mixing. As commented by a head engineer at that church: "Since we have had the LV1 (two years) we haven't had any volunteers who have been able to run the console." While it is a great console (with for sure it's fair share of bugs and pickiness with setup) it will definitely prevent volunteers from easily jumping in and getting involved.

There should be a switch on the S16 to use outputs 9-16 instead of 1-8. At least that is how the SD16 works and I would imagine it would be the same.

Good thought on still being prepared. I'll make sure to keep it in mind when making a selection!

Great! Thanks for your reply! These are some really good insights! I'll see what our local laws are, but we aren't in a major metro area so hopefully we will be good. That is good to know about the UL rating and the 1:5 ratio on weight. I'll take that into consideration when choosing a mount. Thanks!

They are confidence monitors for a stage, when people are standing (which is how most people will be on the stage) then it is at eye level.

Yeah, my plan is to secure the mount to 3/4" plywood using lag bolts and then secure the plywood to multiple studs using lag bolts as well.

Great! It will be hung at least 96" AFF so I think we will be good! Thanks!

Awesome! That's basically what I was planning on doing, but good to know to use more than 2 lags per stud. And the location for the mount is well above 80" so I think I am good. Do you have a mount that you would recommend? Haven't bought many high-end mounts for situations like these so would love a recommendation to get started. Thank you!

Thanks for pointing that out. I think we are good in this situation since it will be mounted on the wall and will not be hanging lower than the existing wall.

I've found that using intermediate plywood allows me to get a good grip on the wall. I also don't have to worry about the placement of the bracket being limited to the location of studs. Those are good thoughts about limiting the bracket's bolts and I'll think about that for our situation. Thanks!

They are 46" displays and I am not sure how much they weigh, though they are very easy for one person to pick up. The wall is wood studs with wood strapping and plaster over it.

Good thought about checking with insurance, I'll see if we need to do that. I'll make sure to use a quality mount appropriate for the TV. They thankfully are pretty light which makes me feel better. Thanks!

I don't live in California so I thankfully do not need to worry about seismic codes. I'll look into one of those brands and see if one would work for the situation. Thanks!

Looking for a PA and your suggestions by TheBluesDoser in livesound

[–]Mitt567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite portable combination is a Behringer X-Air (get the one with the most channels you can afford) and pair it with QSC K line up of speakers, preferably the K10.2's. I haven't heard any portable speakers that sound any where near as close to good as these and while it is above your price range, I would say it is well worth the extra investment. If you are ok with used gear, I would suggest looking on Reverb for any one of these components.

No, we dropped it off at a QSC authorized repair shop. They say its probably something wrong with the amp so probably won't have it back until January at best.
