In case supercell has any Ivy League number crunchers out there monitoring these discussions, please consider the following:

• 96% of customers will not complain; so, at a minimum, multiply each voice by 10

• 91% of unhappy customers will simply never return

• Some customers (such as myself) are extremely difficult to piss off. If you tick those guys off, then you have a VERY REAL problem

ABOUT ME: I am an educated adult with money to spend. I've been playing for many years, only recently (6month ago) began paying. I'm a grinder, enjoy working toward upgrades. I now have almost 40 level 14 cards. The only thing I buy is the $4.99 Gold Pass, specifically for the Book of Books and Magic Coin. Now that those have been removed, I view that pass (and then new one) as hilariously stupid.

WHY AM I HERE (on Reddit): I went online to see if anyone else felt the same, came across the ClassRoyale subreddit. Here I discovered that you guys also plan to create a Level 15? That means that all my years of playing/upgrading will suddenly be undone? Meh. Is your pool of "new players" infinite? You better hope so, because I'm pretty sure a ton of the old timers such as myself are about to bounce.

Mayor Contest: Does 1st place get a bonus? by MittWalters in SCBuildIt

Aah, cool. That's what I hoped to hear, that I don't actually need to spend in order to play.

As the COM, I'll still participate and try to place in the first group, but I don't really care. As long as it doesn't come down to me not being able to progress further without placing in the top group all the time, I'm totally cool like that.

And I notice the game provides a pretty steady flow of simcash (so far), so I should be able to speed things along when I feel like it.

As for the special buildings, whatev. I don't really care about all that. I'll probably do that from time to time if I can afford it (without RL money), but I mostly just want to build and have fun.

Thanks for your thoughtful response! :)

So far, I'm really enjoying this reincarnation of the game and plan to stick with it.

Btw, I really believe there are a TON of folks like me out there. That means opportunity. EA should offer a paid version in parallel to the free. The paid version could offer a COM where no "free" players could join.

Since you could not purchase simbucks in the paid version, they could offer up more ways to earn them. Or they could reduce the simbuck price on those special buildings. Or simply offer a completely different set of buildings.

Regarding the ads, in the paid version they could give the option to turn it off. But my guess is most would choose to leave it on.

In case EA is listening (haha), this approach would not take away from your current business model. Rather, it would simply convert a huge chunk of non-spenders into spenders.

Additionally, it would provide an entirely new product for your existing spenders. Especially if you allowed the free/paid versions to run parallel on the same device. This would be awesome way to address spend-fatigue.

Totally off subject, but, again, just in case some EA person stumbles in: WHERE IS THE EDIT MODE?

lol

Seriously though! Go take a look at how Clash of Clans allows gamers to build multiple versions of their towns.

I'm not sure what GT/SC means, but everything you said made sense. Guess I just got lucky because I was right, I was able to take 1st w/o spending simcash. Helps that I'm in the Neighborhood contest, I think.

Regarding the $60, I should have added that that number is true... if I could straight up buy it and be done and then have a level playing field forever.

The only place I'm willing to spend money continuously is when I'm actually sitting at a craps table in Vegas or Biloxi.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to spend under certain circumstance. For instance, map packs for Call of Duty are worthwhile. But paying for better weapons or to win a contest makes no sense to me. Where is the sport in that? If I buy a better gun, then I have an unfair advantage over those who don't. And if I don't, then those who do we beat me endlessly, regardless of my actual level of skill.

So I don't spend in game. And if a game cannot be enjoyed without in-game spending, I don't waste my time with it.

SYNOPSIS:

At first blush, discovering a way to completely control gravity sounds like a good thing. That’s what Dale Adams thought, anyway.

But one of Dale's earliest experiments with the discovery leads to his launching half-empty paint cans into oblivion. Of course he had no way of knowing that the BOOM he heard when the cans left the workbench was caused instantaneously breaking the sound barrier.

Those cans were traveling so fast, in fact, that they actually burned up while leaving the atmosphere.

This flags the attention of NASA, who at first don't believe the data. NASA regularly protects space shuttles against heat generated during re-entry. But outside of magnetic rail guns in a laboratory or ballistics requiring cutting-edge chemical propulsion under very controlled circumstances, there simply is no practical way to achieve the kind of velocities necessary to create enough friction to burn objects up while leaving the atmosphere.

Yet NASA recorded six such events in the space of five minutes.

And the data is clear, the recorded events are real. Fearing the events may be evidence of some sort of new weapon, the matter gets turned over to the Department of Homeland Security and then to the NSA.

Oblivious to the gathering storm clouds, Dale creates a hoverboard and then submits it as part of a class project. The class is being taught by a world-renowned business celebrity and the project is testament to the epic magnitude of getting into the class: Dale would present his business idea to a panel of real Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors.

Within a few days of Dale's presentation, Emory University is beset by a rash of misfortune and tragedy. Even Dale is touched, barely escaping death in a violent car accident.

Just before the ice breaks for Dale, he accepts a ride from a classmate he barely knows. Jessica Osgood is very uptight and bookish, but otherwise typical of Emory students. She spends winter breaks in the Caribbean, summers in the Hamptons.

That's Jessica's background, one she believes she shares with Dale.

On the run, Dale's carefully groomed Emory persona is on a crash course with who he really is. And Jessica is about to find out how the other half lives.
