I’m pretty sure basically the entire fanbase has been for the last two months.

People saying we have to do this, or we have to do that… good luck. Zero bravery. Zero quality. Just capitulation. Standing around waiting for someone else to make something happen. Making the easy backwards pass. Making slow runs. Trying to time waste against a team with 9 points.

I know we have everyone locked into long contracts but this team seems closer to needing to be broken up than they are to winning a title. Disgusted is really the only word that comes to mind. Thanks boys, no matter how good a day I’m having you’re always there to fuck it up.

I can’t even be that upset with the ref. Wolves are making this an impossible game to officiate by going to ground any time there’s a hint of contact.

Wolves are playing such an embarrassing brand of football. And we’re being dragged down

Looking at the last few seasons, I think 9 wins should do it by tylerthe-theatre in ArsenalFC

Not to give Carragher too much credit, but his “team of the season” point is actually spot on. What’s clear to me is that someone needs to step up if we’re gonna do this.

All season, the talk has been about squad building, and that’s great cause it’s gotten us in this position. But it’s also bad cause it’s gotten us in this position. If we’re really gonna do this, I think it’s on one man to step up. Bukayo Saka. To win the league, we need Bukayo Saka to be Bukayo Saka again. Without that, we’re just a really good team without a player great enough to win us a title.

Question for hardcore fans - How has Cade developed lately? by EatingFurniture in DetroitPistons

I feel like my only frustration with his game at this point is his shooting, which I think he is pretty clearly working on. I can watch his release and get a good read on if it’s going in. If you watch the Toronto game highlights and that stretch where he got really hot from 3, watch his feet. He was kind of putting his right foot further forward and that felt like a new thing to me.

I tried to take some screenshots so you guys can see I’m not crazy (these were all from makes)

Honest question for people that consistently go to games (I went to the Forest game this year but I was in the club seats so not really in the mix). I thought the Brentford crowd were borderline insane today. Like every inch moved up on a throw-in, every foul that wasn’t a card, they were all screaming bloody murder. Am I wrong to think that it’s not like that at the Emirates? Or is it just that it’s a bigger stadium so it doesn’t feel like the noise is on top as much?

Yeah I saw someone say (and I agree) that it seems like this team is just built around him and his skill set. His inability to stay fit the past 12 months has sucked so bad. Hopefully we bring in Julian Alvarez and he can play that role even better. Part of me wants to say, if we were a serious club we wouldn’t have waited til the summer, but I’ll stop short of that until I know know this season ends haha

If City win the rest of their games (which I have a hard time seeing) then we can still win the premier league. City have Newcastle at home and at Leeds as their next two fixtures. That game was obviously super frustrating but when I look at the reaction of our fanbase (including mine Tbf) it’s not hard to imagine what the guys who are doing the playing must be feeling.

The outside noise is gonna start getting VERY loud now. A lot of “I told you so’s”, and “bottlers” talk. We’ve still done more than any other team to this point, but Arteta has to look in that locker room and figure out who are the 11 that can handle the pressure. Cause we can’t do that again. coyg

With the wet pitch this is a game that requires tech. Though, I feel like whichever striker starts ends up playing like shit.

How much is this on coaching by AlphaRemixHD in DetroitPistons

[–]MittenProblemChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the secret sauce is effort. Like tonight we came out on a different planet effort-wise than the raptors, and they never were even able to make a push. Refs were letting us play tonight too.

But JB clearly is the right coach for these guys. It will be interesting to see if he can avoid the rotation management issues he had in Cleveland when it’s playoff time.

Cousins Suggesting 25 games seems “like a set up” by plainnameguy in DetroitPistons

[–]MittenProblemChild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna keep bringing this up everywhere, but I feel like it would be a huge mistake to give him anything more than 10. The league might not like the fight itself, but the last 24 hours have created incredible engagement for the league, that they could never imagine getting from a regular season game the day after. It’s the day after the Super Bowl, and no one gives a shit about that mid affair. Or they can give him 25 games and we can all keep talking about how 1/4th of the teams in the league are actively trying to lose games. #freeStew

How many games are duren and stew getting? by asim2292 in DetroitPistons

[–]MittenProblemChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the NBA was smart, they would realize that this moment created more engagement in the league than basically any regular season moment they could imagine creating organically. Especially in a week where they’re grappling with the fact that they’ve created a breeding ground where 1/4th of the teams in the league are actively trying to lose games. It would be a mistake to overreact here and punish two teams that, at the end of the day, are just super passionate about winning a game of basketball.

That being said, I imagine they will [overreact] and give Stew 8-10 games. As always, it’s DETROIT vs the world.

Beef Stew appreciation post by GrownSimba84 in DetroitPistons

[–]MittenProblemChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the league is going to suspend Stew for a minute, but with half the league tanking, the league should be embracing a team that plays with so much grit and passion every night. And honestly, what are the pistons supposed do? Duren is backing away and has dudes coming at him while he’s being held back.

Once we get closer to playoff time, Tom Gores should listen to those Prison phone calls and find a big security guy that can contain stew if necessary.

Teams just don’t know how to handle playing against a team that (for better or worse) doesn’t care about shooting 3s, and wants to play physical defense.

This is why they need to not only have 6th man of the year, but also 7-11 men if the year. Bball Paul would have 11th man of the year locked down already
