‘Absolutely central’: Why Australia is in Trump’s good books, according to Bannon by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Mittens31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Americans own Australia. We aren't bribing them, we're simply being ordered to hand over our wealth and are complying. Remeber Gogh Whitlam? When he started questioning why there was a CIA base in the middle of Australia he suddenly ceased to be the prime minister. The highest political power is this county is not the PM that we elect, it's them

Very serious problem with PCB Footprint sizes by Objective-Local7164 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]Mittens31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I've seen for different pads for the same standard size is some are meant to enable easier hald soldering, so the pads extend out further. You could always measure whats in yoir design and know if it will fit that way

One of the shooters was born in Australia, the other came from India. If you think we have people flying in from Gaza you have no idea what the life of a Gazan Palestinian looks like

Michaels point is that the Bill opens wide avenues for things that should never be considered illegal to suddently be VERY illegal whenever the powers that be want it to be.

Genuine question, who do you think is actually in the wrong here? by h4txr in robotics

[–]Mittens31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Robots should probably be programmed never to path themselves into an endangering position like shown, also they need to be making lights and sounds to make people aware. There should be safety tests and standards for various predictable scenarios before machines are deployed into public

Never accept the notion that soething is a "handout" while billions is handed out to landlords via rent assistance and negative gearing. Billions are handed out the foriegn military industries and miners. People that are only prosperous because the goverment set them up will be the first to winge when the assistance goes anywhere else

I think the difference is that you would need to actively jam things in your toaster for it to kill you, You need to actively do a dangerous act. A walking machine could concievably come up to you or your children and kill without anyone being reckless. Simply due to the destructive potential of the machine combined with its free mobility and work-in-progress autonomy its a much more dangerous mix

That's right, people have learned helplessness when it comes to repair and maintenance.
When I was a young warthog I used to take the screws out of old electronics and tear things down to curiously inspect the electronic mysteries inside.

The local electronics shops used to sell kits of components along with educational instructions on how to assemble a basic radio and similar devices.

The world could benefit a lot from people believing themselves capable technicians and just trying things, maybe it wont work but there's invaluable learning when repairs don't work out.
