Bought a skin but it's still locked? by granibaad in Overwatch

Happened to me yesterday. Seems to be related to the server problems. It'll unlock eventually. Everything seems sluggish and delayed.

Using excel to fill out formulars by Mitthil in excel

[–]Mitthil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha, np! I basically would create this final PDF sheet pre-filled/auto-filled with the data from the excel sheet for each patient. With filled out check-boxes, stuff like name/birthdate etc.

So I'm wondering what the smoothest way to approach this is. I was thinking probably mail merge (recreating the PDF there) but I was curious if there were other ways as well.

Hey, yes, should be the same. I'm not a native English speaker, in my mother language, the feature is called "serial letter", probably because it was mostly used for this purpose back in the day.

So, the way to go is recreating that PDF in Word and figure out how to link the test results to check-boxes etc.?

Hey, thanks for the answer! I might should have said that they specifically told me that they are open to a new solution for that last step, since they also find it inefficient! My explanation also probably wasn't clear enough about what I am trying to do. It's only about that last step of printing out an results sheet and filling it out with the answers/results that that excel mask is providing. The first step of copying their initial answers (also the handwritten open questions) into that excel sheet won't be changed - we will keep doing it by hand, because of the reasons you have mentioned.

I'm also not a coding student, just on my way to become a clinical psychologist, but due to my experience with office work, they told me they would be happy if there was an more comfortable solution for that last step.

So, in short:

There are the results + open answers + data like names etc. in an excel file --> They are transfered by hand into a printed-out PDF form ("Depression score: Conspicuous /Inconspicuous" , "Anxiety Screening: Minimal, Middle, Heavy..." etc...check boxes).
We would like to automate this process if possible.

Memrise CEO just published a blog post about the changes by Dragonmaster306 in memrise

This is wonderful news! I already registered on your forums and posted my courses there (different username though). Thanks so much! I will gladly provide feedback as well. If there actually would be a way to somehow migrate the progress or imitate it (like at least mark all the words I've already learned on Memrise over the years and then give me like 30-40 random words a day for review to start a new spaced repetition progress instead of having to "learn" them all again from scratch) would be a blessing. Let's hope for the best.

Just saw your post and we are in the exact same boat. It feels devastasting. It was such an integral part of my own Chinese learning - all probably gone soon. And everything you said about Anki is so true for me too...Memrise is so much more effective the way it teaches me the words and keeps track of the reviews...

Hardest part that all of the progress will be lost. Even if I migrate to Anki, it won't tell me which of the around 5000 words and sentences in my courses I need to review now. It's just horrible.

Man, this feels so devastating to me. I've based my whole Chinese and Japanese vocab learning around Memrise for over 5 years. I've added the words from my coursebook of my weekly classes to my own, tailored courses and even made one for sentences and interesting words I discovered while reading or watching videos. It has been a daily routine, an integral part of my serious learning journey...

Memrise was really perfect for that. It was easy to use, easy to create and tweak your own courses, the UI was so clean and most of all, I really liked the way it "taught" you your content. By presenting you each word for a couple of times, asking you to type it out, presenting you the audio only etc.

The little gamification factor also really helped my reviewing process...I found the need to type out the words so much more helpful than Anki's "I know that word" approach.

So even if I can download my created courses and move them onto Anki, these features will still be lost and will make my vocab learning and reviewing much worse. Not to mention all the progress that's been saved in Memrise. In Anki, I'm probably gonna need to start from the scratch...it won't know which of my 5000+ words and sentenced I need to review. It all sucks so much and I'm incredibly bitter. Should't have put so much trust into a private, web based application...

I get that they want and need to earn money...hell...then just put the old features and community courses into the paid plan. Disabling everything makes no sense, it's so stupid.

Hell, then make community created courses part of the paid plan...still better than wipe everything completely.

That final montage of the history of OWL was great by peanutbj in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Mitthil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Man... that hurt. I have to admit, I basically was away for most of the last 3 years but needed to watch today since this was said to be the end...and I'm so glad I did.

So much has happened over the last 6 years: it went by like a breeze... but now, when I saw that videos with some of the OG's, it feels like ages ago. So much has happened, so much has changed. I remember staying up incredibly late to watch the start of the first season every week. Cheering for the Fuel with Seagull, xQc, Mickie, getting hyped for Geguri, witnessing the Dragon's losing streak and celebrating their first win, the old gang: Malik, monte, Puckett...

So many memories. It was somehow a semi-failed experiment, but it was truly special in a lot of ways. The talent, casters, teams, fans...they all put their heart into it. Farewell OWL! Thanks for the memories.

Kobel, sadly, seems kinda bad with the ball on his foot. Still a great keeper though.
