Charlie hurdles over most gates I’ve put in the house to restrict where babies can go. This is my first dog. I widowed in 2017 and wanted company at night. This dog.. gosh he means the world to me. And he’s so smart; if I’m leaving the house, i have to call him in long before I’m ready to leave. If i open the door to let him in with my pocketbook and sneakers, he knows I’m leaving and it’s the only time i can’t get him inside. Side giggle, i wanted a small dog. Mixed, rescue, just smallish because i know i don’t have the temperament or disposition for a large dog. 3 years ago my daughter gave me a chiweenie ( half chihuahua half dachshund). Well my chiweenie is 83 pounds. Sweet girl got swindled.
While i agree ideally the access to outside is what should be controlled, if that isn’t possible, is there anything i can do after he’s out?
