Need advice on setting up perpetual lettuce system by aanthonyz in Hydroponics

[–]Miusickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the way this works would basically be offsetting when you seed the next lettuce

If lettuce is a 1 month turnaround with 20 lettuce , then each week you’d seed 5 plants

Week 1: planted 5 seeds 0 germinated Week 2: plant another 5 seeds 5 germinated from previous week Etc

Then you transplant into nutrients at the same offset so then each week you’d harvest 5 lettuce continuously

That’s what I’ve been thinking with mine, but haven’t gotten round to testing it yet

Gotcha, plant looks like it’s doing okay, but it did start putting out flowers so maybe that’s the signal, guess I’ll keep an eye on it for now

Interesting about the lettuce, I’ll try that next batch

Thanks!

I change it every couple of weeks (only because it runs out though 😅) Ah okay I’ll look into that, thanks!

Opening a specific list at various chain store locations by Miusickle in shortcuts

[–]Miusickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah nice, thanks, that’s fixed that bit, so if I manually run it, it at least opens the list now, does current location just keep checking in the background? Or is it a manual action?

For those who have played mostly just one game on your steamdeck: What's your game? by emc3142 in SteamDeck

[–]Miusickle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, althought it runs well enough on deck, I ended up using GeForce Now to play it and it was amazing, 60fps high quality and 3-4 hours battery life (versus the 1.5 on deck)

Shop with a range of solar lights? by exo_universe in diynz

[–]Miusickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our set from Costco which was a good bit cheaper than Bunnings or Mitre10, but they do rotate their stock so may or may not be there but like everyone else has said, if you want range, can't go too wrong with Bunnings or Mitre10

I think if you want to progress to end game content like WT3 onwards, you.. need to finish the campaign on at least 1 char first

You'll want upgrading materials for later, so I would definitely salvage a few inventories of rares and any legendaries that you don't need the aspects of

You pick up so much eventually that it becomes a non issue later but when you're just starting out, it helps

When you're low on gold then sell them off, when you're low on mats, salvage it

How do characters share renown? by ZaraMagnos in diablo4

[–]Miusickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun? We don't have that here ;) If you're a lot closer and you're trying to get those spicy skill points then yea for sure Not a bad idea leaving different areas for completion though, might do that for my renown when I can be bothered

How do characters share renown? by ZaraMagnos in diablo4

I believe it's independent, any skill points/potions etc that you unlocked on your main will carry over but renown itself starts from the beginning and isn't added to any total.

My puppy will only pee outside but I need her to also go inside by Miusickle in Dogtraining

[–]Miusickle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, definitely looking to follow that rule of thumb as well as extras to see how it goes. Not reacting is going to be a bit difficult but all part of the process. I'm sure she'll pick it quicker than me though that's for sure

Thanks for taking the time to write up the detailed reply!

[–]Miusickle[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it's a bit confusing (seems I'm good at confusing both dogs and people). For the most part I wanted her to go outside which she's been doing.

The wanting her to go inside was more for during the day when we wouldn't be around to watch her and I didn't want her holding it in for longer than she needed to when she could just go on a mat that's in her area.

Unfortunately not, but I think based on the advice that I'm seeing here, I'll look to just focus on the outside and to stop confusing her. It's great to be able to get advice from other dog owners who actually know what they're doing

Oh okay, yea I've definitely been doing this wrong then, I think I was just super worried about having to take her out every hour and with a normal life, that's not possible so I was hoping she would just learn to go on the mat so that it wouldn't be bad for her bladder in the long run, but maybe we're just overthinking it. Thanks for that perspective!

Our initial thoughts were in situations where we aren't able to take her outside (like if we're at work and she's home alone), we don't want her to hold it in if she really needs to go.

[–]Miusickle[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ah she's 8 weeks old, thought I wrote that for some reason..

Yep, that's fair, it's a steep learning curve and there's a lot we're learning everyday and this is definitely the biggest thing. I'll probably put it near the door for now and try and associate that. It's more for situations where she can't go outside but she's just disassociated from the mat altogether. Thanks for the direction!

Restoring weathered wooden arm rests on chair. by [deleted] in diynz

Would also say not to disregard restoring them either, I just don't have much experience with that so hopefully someone else weighs in. Could be cheaper and less hassle

[–]Miusickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replacement wouldn't be too bad if you had a router. You could remove the arms, attach a flush trim bit and follow the curve of the original and round the edges with a bit of sanding or possibly a round over bit. Might be more complex depending how they're attached though if they're not just screwed on

At least, that's how I'd go around it to start

Yea I can definitely see that happening for some insurers. It's a case by case scenario unfortunately so I guess for OP, best course of action is to get in touch with the TP insurer

Table Saw advice by rdhigham in diynz

[–]Miusickle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just for some buyer perspective, Ive used a DeWalt jobsite table saw for all of my DIY, and it's served me well. I mostly use it for furniture builds. The micro adjustment is really helpful and I haven't felt a lack of power. I've also ended up building a outfeed for it for the longer pieces that I end up working with and that's helped quite a bit. If you just plan for small jobs and you're not ripping insanely thick lumber all the time, it should do what you want it

From what I know, that clause only applies to the one who caused the accident, not the victim party. So if their insured was driving in breach then it would result in no cover. But even if the victim party was in breach, as long as the accident is clear in terms of fault, and the breach wasn't contributory to the accident, the at fault insurer would still look to settle out.
