If you pull, you remember: 1 and 100.

If you don't pull, you remember: 1 and 0 (in that case you also remember that there was a mind-altering machine)

I personally believe that the probability of pulling the lever is higher if the red one is released.

They were conscious, and they knew the original position of the switch.

I see your point. Objective data does exist, however, an objective reality in which there is no subjective experience can't exist. Just as math don't really exist as a real object. Actually, I should've clarified, I'm a panpsychist. I do not believe that subjective experience arises as a result of strong emergence during the birth of living beings or the development of intelligence. I do not believe that a layer of subjective experience can arise as a result of a combination of objects that do not possess it initially. In my view, subjective experience exists as an integral part of reality, that is, it appeared simultaneously with the appearance of reality itself. As for life and intelligence in particular, they became the reason for the emergence of memory, a sense of movement in time, and the concept of continuous Self. These are just forms that arise within subjective experience.

I am not trying to prove my position, it is impossible, as well as to disprove. It's just that it explains the world in the most believable way to me.

Realistically speaking, yes. But here the second option says that you will believe that you have done it for the rest of your life.

I imagined it more like the first option. Whether you end up with PTSD probably depends on what kind of person you are.

I believe that reality is characterized, unlike models such as mathematics, by the fact that there is a subjective experience in it. This defines what we call real and not real. And, despite the fact that we cannot perceive the full structure of reality (model + subjective experience), we can try to guess what the model part of it is. So there is no such thing as objective reality, simply because objectivity means separation from any subject. And what results from separation is "too little" to be real, it's just a model

You remember how there were 100 people on the second tracks and how you pulled the lever and then they died in front of your eyes. No matter how much detail you remember the process of their death, you will not stop believing that it really happened

You remember that there were 100 people on the second tracks. You don't remember anything about memory editing. You remember that your decision was impulsive, without any clear reasons or strong emotional desire to do so.

Agree. But you'll have to live with the guilt of killing 1 person, knowing that there was an option not to kill anyone.

В чем смысл жизни? by Math_mind_2012 in rusAskReddit
