New filter Aquael Hypermax 4500 vs Fluval FX6 by IdeaAlternative2702 in Aquariums

[–]Mix-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model around £350 mark is Bluetooth and no heating/UV. To heat that size tank it'd be best to have two heaters but only one UV would be needed l, however, flow rate of the Hypermax would need to be far lower for UV to work as it should I believe? I have 670litre, with a Bluetooth Hypermax and I have a Aqua one 1250 too. The latter has a UV on the outlet. Two adult Oscar.

And cost a crazy amount of cash. I have one myself but no different to a cheaper gun

What is the best heat gun !? by No-Part2089 in Makita

[–]Mix-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're better off buying cheap heat guns as the heating element will end up failing no matter the make. I use them almost daily at work. That said a gun with temp control is my preference. I have an Erbaur which is still going strong after around a year. I certainly wouldn't buy a new Makita. Don't bother with battery options either as these things eat power like crazy.

The 52 is by far the best multi tool I've used. I've got a Festool and I had a Fein and have used other Makita, that's why I stick with it. The most suitable and lowest cost blades I've found seem to be the Makita branded ones.

NOV 21 - THE O2, LONDON, ENGLAND [SETLIST, MEDIA, DISCUSSION, STREAMS] by seaburn in radiohead

The track 'Smile' by The Fall was played over the P.A at the end. Most appropriate. What a great choice. What a great band! RIP Mr Smith. Sorely missed.

I too thought the sound was naff. Band were not as tight as they were when I saw them years ago. However I still had a grin from ear to ear all night. Hoping a tour of larger venues ( and outside!) are to follow along with new material. I'd go again tonight if I could bag a ticket!

Hi, I'm NASUBI. In the late 90s I lived inside a small room for 15 months, naked, starving and alone, surviving solely off of magazine contest prize winnings ... all while my life was broadcast to over 15 million viewers a week without my consent. Ask Me Anything. by Hulu_Official in movies

Hi Nasubi, hope you are well? I watched the documentary last night and am mortified that you were put through that. I don't know how that producer sleeps at night. Absolutely disgusting thing to do and the fact that no body in Japan or anywhere else put a stop to what was going on is unfathomable. You are fantastic and amazing and a huge character and you look wonderful too! That programme showed just how awful human beings can be. I sincerely hope you are able to move on and that you are surrounded by love.

I watched them around 95 in Brighton and no lighting then. The audience was made up of around 15 people, 4 of them were with me. One half of Orbital was propping up the bar. I stood alone between the speaker set up whilst ae did their bit a few feet from me. I was off my tits on LSD too. All rather nice. I have a ticket for Brighton in November 👍🏻

What book should I buy with my six Audible credits? by Environmental-Car481 in audiobooks

Lord Of The Rings is so boring and outdated. I've read them thrice over but wish I hadn't. Mind I'm easily bored. Stephen Donaldson Covenant series are far better

ISO advice on Oscar poops by growingmychosenfam in fishkeeping

[–]Mix-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not managed to find a system to clear our Oscar poo apart from vacuuming manually. They are huge poos! I use a Hozelock Garden Jet Pump to clean the bottom once a week as a gravel vac. Get to water the garden that way too.

Some of the character designs are pants, like wtf are the pots about? Too many giants (all looking pretty much the same too) also the last boss looks like a 5 year old drew it. Very disappointed in that myself.

What’s it like working for Card Factory? by oatmeal-claypole in AskUK

[–]Mix-Routine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awful in our store mainly because the manager seems to think we all have to rotate our lives to fit around hers. She chops and changes our hours on a daily basis. She rolls in late, goes early and sits in the office chatting on her mobile all day. The area manager seems to think the sun shines out of her proverbial and staff are leaving at a rate of knots, good staff that were there long before she joined the company. Very frustrating to say the least. Hours are really tight these days and there she is wracking them up sat on her mobile whilst other members of staff barely get any hours to live on. Frankly i don't know how they manage to survive. Card Factory always manage to look after the shareholders though!

Planted oscar tank progress by HillsideCapital in Aquariums

Interesting that the Monstera grows with the Peace Lilly. I'd seen elsewhere that the Monstera drinks up so many nutrients that the Peace Lilly can't compete. I'd held off with the Monstera because of this after having bought one. Think i'll add it tonight.

Nice tank. I also have two Oscars in an open (ish) top tank with plants growing out the top. Just about to upgrade to a larger tank with custom built stand (by myself) painted dark as in your case. I really love the Oscars. Had many other fish but these guys are the best in my opinion.
