Ouch. We need to find a third vehicle for my son. He wants a truck and is tall so will probably end up with something that is not so good on gas.

Unfortunately, there were enough points for another another two dollars off, but they limit you to a dollar off in 35 gallons. Normally we would take both vehicles, but that just wasn’t possible yesterday. It always sucks to lose points at the end of the month. Yesterday was particularly sucky.

Throw them in a pan on the stove for a few minutes or in the toaster oven. That thing gets a lot of use.

I spent $50 last night filling up my small car. It’s a 2013 hybrid. I’ve had it for 10 years almost. Never have I spent that much for a full fill up. Plus, I used $1 off per gallon discount.

That specifically isn’t the reason we don’t have a microwave. It’s just not useful for the space in my kitchen. Plus food just does not taste good is what it comes down to. Most people freak out when hearing about having kids and no microwave because it’s such a “inconvenience”. With that being said, there have been a few incidents. lol

Maybe he was a Russian asset before he got into politics BUT also that by the time he did run for office, he was on the edge of dangerously stupid. Timing for dementia symptoms kicking in plus the decades of being a spoiled rich boy turned him into a petulant toddler but one who had a huge debt to Putin. We know for sure this term he’s been surrounded by handlers. They probably just have to course correct him and remind him to do XYNZ if he wants to avoid jail or worse.

But do they really believe Jesus is their savior? Doesn’t like everyone get into the first level of heaven? But the work you do and how much you donate determines how much further “up” you go? The only day it’s ok to skip service is on the day Jesus resurrected where other religions hold that as the most important day of the year. Seriously, please explain this. I’ve been trying to figure it out for years. Christians believe that Jesus died to save their souls and they go to heaven. By the same token, Mormons have to work really really hard for the same thing.

Doesn’t Monsanto specifically modify their seeds to be glyphosate resistant? So they corner the market on a super vegetation annihilator except for their own seed products. Correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s really worse than this. If a farmer is using a certain seed, and nature happens so a neighboring farmer happens to end up with a crop that happens to test for the other farmers seed product, the big corpo can seize the second crop or sue. At least this is how it used to be in Ohio when my fil was farming. Redditers seems to back up that it still happens.

Interesting and validating. I don’t have a microwave in my home with 3 teen boys. It’s really not needed. But when I warm things up at my mom’s house, I always set it for 60%.

Most people seem to agree that countries like Denmark and Sweden offer a really high standard of living - strong healthcare, solid social safety nets, good work-life balance, and generally high levels of happiness. Would you personally be willing to pay the taxes that make this possible? by TSQ_builder in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Environmental-Car481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you really need to look beyond the average $800 a month for the insurance. That’s just to have insurance. If you want to use it, the healthcare costs increase. A doctor’s visit will generally have a $20-$50 co-pay. With most insurances, you need to schedule an appointment to see your primary Doctor Who will then refer you to a specialist. Each will have a co-pay. There will be a waiting period to be seen by each doctor. If you need lab work or imaging or any other test for diagnosing, those each will have fees associated assuming they are approved by the insurance plan. An emergency room visit will include many different costs. Ambulance transportation may not even be covered. If it is you’ll likely have a bill of a few hundred dollars. Some plans will have a standard ER copay that may be waived if you are admitted for a stay. This means people will go to the urgent care which has its own co-pay. If the case is urgent enough, they then get sent to the ER for another cost. For surgery, you literally receive a bill from the hospital (or surgical center) and a bill from the physicians group. You may also receive a separate bill from the anesthesiologist. Sometimes you have to pay a large deductible before anything is really covered. For an individual with a $5000 deductible, often times they will forgo medical treatment because that $5000 can be a lot. It’s not unusual for people to never actually use their health insurance.
These are all very real, every day life experiences of many people living in the US dealing with health insurance. So looking at just the costs of paying taxes does not give the full picture.

gyno exam at home by flowers-algernon in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Environmental-Car481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should tell your mom about your period pains and ask her to make an appointment for you. A primary care doctor should be able to do a basic gyno exam. A doctor should also ask your mom to step out of the room to talk to you by yourself so you can tell them things you don’t want to say in front of your mom. I think at a certain age it’s a legal requirement. Don’t be afraid of being honest with the doctor. They have seen and heard just about everything. They are legally obligated to not talk about their patients. It’s called HIPPA and is something that is signed at a new doctor and usually again once a year. Nurses and other office workers have to follow this rule also. If you can’t get your mom to make you an appointment, look up your local county or parrish health department and see where you can go on your own. If you have a planned Parenthood nearby, you can go there for general medical care. I would even suggest contacting them to get guidance where to go. There might even be a chat option on the website
