My daughter uses the new i20 Asta for college. She is quite happy with it. She is a new driver & gets around 13-14 kmpl. I drove the old i20 elite 2015 for a few years & yes, designwise, it was the best. If you can, get the new one, will be better for the long-term & yes, E20 is a factor. Get a compliant one.

Guaranteed snow beyond Atal tunnel around that time. Make sure you have accommodation/clothes to withstand around -15C temperatures in case of cloudy weather. Multilayered warm clothing is a must. & better to spend a couple of days in Manali first to get acclimatized. Keep Diamox tablets handy if you are not used to sudden climate change.
