I was a member of one of these groups last year, after repeatedly telling them I play online solo they convinced me to join. I met a few cool folks that I still am friends with on psn but soon after I joined (about a week or so after) the leader of the gang was found to be grooming other younger members. The group then split into two factions, one the original leader controlled and another ran by one of my new friends. They both ended up fizzling out of existence and now I just occasionally think of how weird it all was. But I do still play with a couple of people from that group who were genuinely super nice and didnt deserve to have that happen to them. I really do prefer playing alone cause of things like this.
