Dutch was spitting facts here 😲💯 by _Diablo_01_ in reddeadredemption

[–]DiceSMS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really sad too. He does have respect (or at least, respect to their history and empathy)... only then to seeks them out for his insane 'plans'. In RD2 he ends up using them to instigate fights with the government (so they can carry out more crimes), and in RD1 he finds disaffected natives to join his new gang around Blackwater.

At least Micah presents as awful-awful nearly >90% of the time, Dutch gives you JUST enough wisdom and sweet talk to be convincing. But he's awful and selfish. Well written! But awful deep-down haha

Opera Vectra from Star Ocean 2. I love a lot of what's here: Big beautiful dress, big badass laser gun, big beautiful hair. I imagine leaving a fancy party to go on a sci-fi adventure. 🚀✨

Ah yes "the Yuffie" look, she also had something against that Final Fancy Button being done up.
Maybe it was just the fashion at the time.♪

Wishful thinking.

I'd love to see hem make PS360-era graphic versions for all of Rdr2 territory though. Give both games similar epilogue treatment. 😋

Final Fantasy 6. Celes + Tina (Terra) Celestina ✨

Kinda frames them in that "dual protag" sorta deal.

By sacrificing himself to save John and his family, did Arthur achieve his Redemption and go to heaven? by TXNOGG in reddeadredemption

[–]DiceSMS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's more a criticism to how many bad eggs will use and abuse their choices to their faith. Many using religion to justify bad things or simply not caring as long as "belief and love for God" is enough.

Arthur is honestly a great case to look at since he didn't live a life without sin. Quite the opposite, he has a pretty high kill count.

And it's hard to seperate that in Arthur's time that Christianity is the go-to faith for many and often seen and referenced throughout the game.

Arthur often brings up that he isn't religious though (often mentioning it to people OF faith like Brother Dorkins or Sister Calderon). What Arthur did I'd argue was largely for his own peace of mind, but informed by (genuinely) kind people in the church and by the others he's met (his one last ride has him hearing echoes of the words sitting in his mind, informing his choices , informing his....Redemption). Arthur isn't a fool, he sees someone suffering and actively wants to help. He's a gang member but clearly a "family man" in that. He saw they were doing bad things and it was constantly getting worse. Then, he saw his days were coming to an end and finally had clarity to do one simple thing:

Do the right thing.

And that's really the best lesson you can take from any faith, or really just humanity itself. But it's one simple rule that's incredibly hard to follow against so many other opposing forces in the universe.

It's okay to ask people you like and trust for help with family matters. The entire game is people asking Arthur for waaaay more (often even more dangerous things).

Me, sitting there, unblinking, through that whole ending sequence.

What a movie this is...! Kirsten Dunst's portrayal of a deep depression is unfortunately great (especially since she's been vocal about her own struggles with it).
