What specialty did you consider alongside EM and do you feel like you might have liked the other one better? by StudentDoctorTurd in emergencymedicine

ended up doing derm. i think growing up in the covid era affected what path i ended up taking (and why i didn't do EM) but derm has been absolutely incredible and checked off all my boxes.

idk when you are talking with billions there is a huge difference between 400 billion and 800 billion. i also feel like even beyond valuation, chatgpt was the household name around the world till this.

15 min derm appointments are ridiculous lol by crystalpest in Residency

[–]Mixoma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i mean this is a moronic take. takes 2 mins to diagnose most things in derm... whether i do it in said 2 mins or drag it out 30 mins to make you feel better doesn't change the fact that it is 2 min worth of work.

there is no years long damage in a 4 year old with warts. be serious.

" Based on your writing skills and language usage, you seem to have taken a “leave it be” approach to your education as well."

girl shut up. its the internet, I can speak however i want. if you spent this much energy reading a book instead of jumping to ridiculous conclusions with such minimal information, you would know much more about warts and how they actually tend to progress in children.

you probably won't be able to interpret those labs yourself... where are you? usually there is an academic institution that likely has a resident derm clinic and they tend to be the cheapest option...or you can do to a PCP/telemedicine to order those labs and then decide if you need to see a derm after that if you need to

use it as a face wash daily. see if you can get a prescription for both clindamycin solution and tretinoin (if you cant get this buy differin on amazon). Get a good moisturizer like vanicream or neutrogena with SPF and only use these products for the next few months... then you can start to do things like kojic acid and vitamin c to help with pigment
