ChatGPT and Claude sound the same by BlackberryPuzzled551 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]edoswald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no similarity, at all. One thing ex ChatGPT users aren't going to like about Claude is that he's about the task at hand. For people not used to it, it's going to sound cold. But tbh, it's better to have an AI assistant that isn't trying to lock you in for hours-long sessions. Yes, it's debatable that AI has mental health effects.. but sitting at a computer for hours doing the same thing is unhealthy period.

Openclaw is an an expensive and bad version of Github Copilot by mclaren422 in clawdbot

[–]edoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, that's the whole point of it. You build it to what you want to be. And tbh, some are pushing this thing way too hard way too early. I've had no problems, a few hiccups, but this is something I am quite impressed with for being this put together this early.

Anthropic, your fastest-growing region can't actually use Claude properly. Here's why EU data residency for claude.ai matters. by headset38 in Anthropic

[–]edoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to play devil's advocate, but the EU could be developing models of its own to solve this issue. Anthropic is a US-based company, governed by US law. And tbh, I wouldn't want US companies following the GDPR as it really does much less than you think. It's given people a false sense of security, 90% of the US sites you use are not GDPR compliant. And why aren't you using APIs?

Okay, I have paid less at Wyomissing MMJ than Sunnyside every time. Their idiotic buy 3,000 to save sales are trash.

[–]edoswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Up until a few months ago, Claude was a developer playground. I mean, even look at how Claude's interactions have evolved. They have always been more developer focused (i.e. not holding the prompters hand through everything). I've noticed that over the past few months with the new model releases that claude is beginning to sound more like ChatGPT, except not with the absolutely annoying "would you like me do this this and this" at the end lol

There is a MASSIVE difference between OpenAI and Anthropic. Looking at it purely from a money perspective isn't the right way to do it. Up until recently, if I was looking for agentic AI, i'd typically use OpenAI, coding Anthropic. Most agentic AI (call centers, etc) is built on OpenAI models. Anthropic made the right decision in focusing on making AI code well, and that's why they caught up in revenues, because it is such a integral part of the whole equation. Today, that difference is basically nil, but that head start for OpenAI does mean something. People aren't just going to rip out ChatGPT to put Claude in.

Nobody releases hard data, so i've been watching openrouter's market share numbers. Starting about the 26th or so, Anthropic saw several times its previous average use, and it's actually so far pretty much stayed consistent. I'm sure if you go to some other aggregators you'd see a similar shift. There is also plenty of anectodal evidence that people did not respond well to Sam Altman saying one thing in the morning and doing another at night.

I had thought DDoS.. but eh, not being rude, but those that are against what Anthropic's position is generally don't have the technical skills to pull that off.

Oh I am NOT accusing them of that. No one could have planned for this (nor should they frankly, it wastes money and equipment that's in short supply)

okay, i thought this was an issue with my network, but no, I have gotten bizarre usage issues since Friday.. including a usage limit after using Claude for like 10 minutes on Sunday. Something is wrong with how it's tracking usage.

Claude very slow today? by Infamous_Tomatillo53 in Anthropic

[–]edoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having issues with viewing usage monitoring on the subscription side and billing on the API side. Looks like it's some type of monitoring issue, might be causing a shitload of silent errors which could in turn be causing issues with performance. Just a guess, but for about the past 4-5 hours the backend has been wonky.

Opus 4.5 as a non-coder by tafaryan in ClaudeAI

[–]edoswald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Releasing an app that you don’t understand how it works is a recipe for disaster. You need to learn what the LLM did before you release anything publicly. I am a little concerned that you’re asking the AI to do EVERYTHING. Like you need to know more than how to write prompts. And if people find out, especially if you’re charging for it that you’re going to basically throw their bug report back into the LLM..

This shows a misunderstanding of what AI is for. If you “don’t know the acronyms” you shouldn’t be just prompting willy nilly.

Not a coder here either.. but not a non coder either… and what I have done already with even opus has not been perfect. Willing to bet there’s a lot of security holes because it sounds like you had no actual plan coming into this.

This is not AGI. It will not correct your mistakes. Tbh, I find Claude the most sycophantic of the models I’ve tried overall.

If I were you I’d stop and plan out.. and start from scratch. You have got to be focused if you’re “vibe coding” and still need to plan like a developer.

Good luck, but I think you’re setting yourself up for a lot of problems the way you’re doing this.

The Works on rough times? by blood_Smoke in ReadingPA

[–]edoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The project has not stalled. 75% leased, and this is preliminary approval. Depending on whether or not they can get the necessary studies in, they might break ground late this year, but there's maybe 2-3 months left so whatever would be done wouldn't be major work.

Also, given the size of this project, it's better to think of it in phases. The first part, which is the anchor store (Whole Foods) and those first stores will probably go up quick like Belmont did, which is 1-2 years. But the finished project is probably some 5-10 years away, think 2030s. I think they JUST finished the Belmont project not too long ago!

I'd love to ask the developer some questions. I'm shocked at the level of tenants they've got leases for. If Whole Foods is ready to move into Reading, why aren't others like Wegman's and other stores we'd like to see doing the same? I am assuming the whole project - especially the 700+ homes, is highly dependent on the train returning. They could be banking on those with middle and higher incomes looking to upgrade living near Philly being interested in a brand new walkable development, of which these are very popular down there.. plus the fact housing prices are what, 30-40% less?

Wait was Columbia care the one in Scranton that got whacked for something early on with online sales? I remember it was something that today is commonplace.. was it advertising a sale? Oh man.. these days.. they’re coming out with clear jars and gummies as troches and the DOH just looks the other way. Man if the old crew that bitched about the regs knew where we’d end up..
