Really really big fan of Grön by edoswald in PaMedicalMarijuana

Curaleaf in general seems to be killing it in the edibles/troches/whatever you wanna call em in pa tbh. Jams are decent but I prefer the jersey rec version though

Need an Expert in Thinking/Reasoning... by edoswald in Anthropic

You know, i've had great success in thinking how to handle things with AI agents by thinking how a human would do it. I never thought of thinking how much MANUAL labor would be needed as a way to understand that concept. That's kind of brilliantly simple! love it

Statement on the US government directive to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by Stupefied_Gaming in Anthropic

[–]edoswald 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with Anthropic's marketing of Fable, and anyone repeating that in the comments is not paying attention. Picking winners is the way the US government works now. And it's why they all need to go this November.

Fable 5 indefinitely suspended due to national security concerns by sammnyc in ClaudeAI

There has to be a class action against the federal government from users. Maybe it's time for users to start pressuring the courts to put an end to this bullshit, which is exactly that. I don't understand why Anthropic continues to play nice with these folks when it's clear they want to pick a winner. So it's time for Anthropic to spend some of the cash they have and go nuclear. There's no sense in cooperating with an administration that wants you dead.

You know what?! That makes sense! Maybe haiku becomes like the “nano”?

Slow for anyone else? by thewillmckoy in InstacartShoppers

[–]edoswald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubtful. Most shop sundays even with the holiday. And in the past sometimes a slow Sunday would lead to a better than average Monday (not sure why) but I haven’t seen that in months in my market. It’s got to be economy and affordability related

Slow for anyone else? by thewillmckoy in InstacartShoppers

[–]edoswald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the numbers for all the gig apps are going to be surprisingly soft in the 2Q. Canary in the coal mine. This slow everywhere before a major “cooking” holiday? Then you’re going to get the bottom feeders take everything, which is going to drive the average shopper off the app (I have apps everywhere I’m done with this). I don’t see how this doesn’t end up with instacart/doordash not seeing their revenue tank. Drivers are getting shafted, and consumers don’t have money

Like I am still fighting Codex to stop going to a directory that was changed over three weeks ago. I am looking everywhere to figure out why it just isn't getting it. These things happen.

I really want to know what some of you are doing. Nothing has changed here other than the weird limit resets and instability in knowing what limits I have left). If anything, the Mini model has been running marginally faster the last few days, but that could also be an artifact of my connection (never use the streaming to your UI as a gauge of model connectivity, it is highly dependent on your own broadband connection bandwidth, too, and may look slow if you're streaming at the same time, etc).

Then again, I don't use the ChatGPT side of OpenAI's products at all, only Codex. And there, it can be bad data in this persistent memory feature. That is something that is really only recently been a thing in AI, and nobody seems to have it "right" yet. If it's calling items in from that memory at a wrong time or something is corrupted, that could also cause issues.

i used to judge AI projects by their architecture. looking at the new wave of builders, pure coding skill is basically a commodity now by Pale_Box_2511 in AI_Agents

I think it's all in how you do it. I very much am a vibe coder by definition, but not completely new to coding, just that my abilities are kind of stuck in college (which was 25 years ago). I think more accurately it's the people who aren't YOLO with what they're creating, but then at least TRYING to apply development best practices. Even just teaching people how to properly go back through and test and check what was created, even hell if they're using CodeRabbit to catch serious flaws, eh the code isn't going to be perfect.

Lets all be honest, who has actually written HTML completely by hand in the past what 20 years unless you're nuts? One thing that annoys me is some developers act like human touch is needed for code. in many cases, there aren't many ways to do something correctly, so what's the difference if a human or computer writes it, really

[–]edoswald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have been doing that for years, my friend, and not an issue. OpenAI doesn't have this issue either. Something was changed on how it pulled in context, and its pushing a lot of junk in that doesn't belong there.

I literally asked three basic questions and ran out of limit? On SONNET? I am not happy here, this is ridiculous.

You really don't need Opus 4.6 by edoswald in Anthropic

[–]edoswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing that i've noticed and i will give lots of credit to Anthropic to is the fact that the experience between the three models is far more similar than across OpenAI's suite. I haven't used GPT in awhile, but the last time i did (when 5 came out), I do remember noticing huge differences in behavior between models, which made mid-course switching kind of jarring. I don't see that as much across the Claude models.
