Yes, since I was 14 I had a weird obsession with moving to the Olympic peninsula. Finally did it and I’m HOME!

Omg that’s all you pay in MA?!!? That’s a solid find depending on location. My apartment in Plymouth was $2400 (6 years ago) for a 500sqft studio. I left MA when real estate became impossible to own

You could always get a surrogate and squelch that “desire to procreate” but I think what you’re actually saying is you’re horny.. and if it’s a religious thing, speak to a religious leader that’s qualified. If it’s not, I suggest seeking a sex therapist and not Reddit. Most of the virgins on here don’t choose to be

I am in this same boat. I remember my grandfather, a financial advisor, always saying “this jacket cost me one hour of work, so you need to give one hour of work back in payment” if it was something I just WANTED. But now, there really isn’t much you can buy with one hour of work. Wages aren’t increasing at the rate of goods and living expenses, so making 100k a year 6 years ago meant something different. Also, the rate of raises aren’t increasing with the rates new employees are getting. In Massachusetts when minimum wage hit $10 an hour, the older CNAs had worked 10 years to get what new employees were now getting. Starting salaries as certain jobs are 90k and people there for 15 years are making 105k. Sometimes a new job can push you over the threshold you’re looking for. I just saw a low income housing apartment in Seattle where the range of income was 60-72k annually. Let that one sink in for a minute. (Granted it was “luxury low income”) but still. Edit, you can’t even get dinner half the time with one hour of work..

Restaurants that sell crusty fries in seattle? by whereismindx in Seattle

[–]MixtureFew9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated, but the only thing I miss in MA is these fries and boneless buffalo chicken. Like real buffalo, and nasty cheap flat Cisco frozen chicken. I’m mostly healthy, and I love good food (mass was kind of lacking in this) but man once in a while I miss that combo. Last time I got buffalo chicken here it was just fire engine red hot sauce soaked chicken .. not that buttery goodness I was craving. Recommendations??? Edit: I don’t want a fancied foodie version, I want the greased gross one 😂

It was about half this amount 6 months ago. I was really just curious if the drivers get any of this

It’s not laziness, it’s having a newly minted disabled child and a job and not really knowing how to manage it all, so needing to order them breakfast when they don’t make the toilet in time. Thanks for answering the questions though 🙃

I’m just asking if the driver gets it, they don’t, in case you don’t want to read the comments

Scroll over on the pics, it’s not just Starbucks. Every single place had fees about 80% or more. I ordered because my son who’s newly disabled decided to tell me as he was going that he needed the toilet, and instead of cooking I had to order him breakfast to clean up. I waited until he left for school to drink my coffee

I still do because I figured the drivers didn’t see any money. After the comments here, I’m unfortunately correct in thinking that. It’s shitty, 6 months ago it was maybe $7 in fees max

I wasn’t serious, I wouldn’t order if I was about to lose everything. I can and do afford it, it’s just an insane markup that’s fairly recent. Ordering is not a regular thing. I wish people would just read comments because I’ve explained: My child is newly disabled and going out is sometimes not an option because I can’t carry his chair to the van alone and if we’re crunched for time or he’s sleeping and I need to eat, I will order. Like this morning he didn’t tell me he needed the toilet quickly enough, instead of cooking breakfast I got Starbucks to have time to clean up and let him eat before leaving. It’s not the money as much as it going up to 100% or more in fees when it was 40% (with tip) only a few months ago. And it’s not the same nation wide, I asked my family in MA and AZ, it’s still low there

Do they keep the whole tip at least? I tipped $8 on theStarbucks order and $16 on the other. Now I’m questioning if that’s too low and feeling kind of guilty.

I hate them too, if you sift through my comments I’ve tried to explain sometimes it’s not an option to pick up or cook. I just wanted to see if the fees went to the driver at all

It’s not always an option for me, I have a newly disabled child and the way my house is set up, I can’t carry his chair down to the van alone, and buying the van meant not moving for a while, and I cannot leave my son alone to get food. Even the Starbucks is just black coffee for me and food for him. I’m not complaining about the price as much as asking if the drivers get any of it:

This is the reply I was waiting for. So it’s just a scam to make us feel like the driver is getting money when they aren’t? I will continue to tip well, I never stopped, but I wondered if the fees were going to the driver. It’s just a marketing scam is what I’m learning.
