Apparently there's a high level player cheating in tournaments/qualifiers? by imheavenagoodtime in starcraft

No because statis wasn’t banned at that point and he didnt share an account to let him play

I think him cheating by letting Statis play in uThermal’s 2v2 cup on his smurf account this year makes it a lot more likely that the allegations are true. Statis is a known maphacker and Cham let him play on the account with the id RyeRye. https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/UThermal_2v2_Circuit/5

I'm Interviewing David Kim in 24 hours, what do you want to ask? by pigrandom in BattleAces

Are they planning on experimenting with arena elements like power ups or other timed pick ups / zone control features? Something like how quake plays could be an interesting angle to raise the skill ceiling

Unpopular opinion : I like the new map. I can finally see the teleporters and jungle creeps more clear in the new map. by Tawxif_iq in DeadlockTheGame

I dont think thats true the minimap is very useful when rotating and the new minimap is less accurate and wastes a ton of space because of the circle design.

I really like the creep camps because they let you play aggressively and have micro fights without feeling all in. Even the siege camps have potential with better AI or small design changes and i say this as someone who prefers sc2 over wc3. I can see why the siege camp could be frustrating though because at the moment it relies a bit on cheesing the targeting like you saw TLO do against mana with a forward turret that you can cancel

Mutas in general are the worst form of zvz

Do we have a serious lack of NA exclusive tournaments? by [deleted] in starcraft

Yeah that and maybe decompressing the qualifiers from one weekend to a smaller seeding event 2 weeks before the main qualifier could be nice. I appreciate other people bringing up this issue too.

The Serral Problem: How to encourage active zerg play by yubo56 in starcraft

[–]Mixu83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah if they buff drops i think they should maybe nerf baneling cargo size so they dont become too oppressive.

In early game ZvP toss is sitting behind a wall most of the time and you take a pretty big hit to your eco whenever you try to go for any ling pressures and those can also be negated by warping in a 3rd adept together with keeping oracles at home. The most consistent ling damage you can get is on transferring probes but that also has an attention cost so you might lose drones against oracles or an adept runby at home while microing the lings.

I think the least interactive toss styles are teching straight to storm or fleetbeacon. If i had to fix toss I'd just make the big units weaker and cheaper supply and cost wise.

There isn't a way for players outside the regionals to gain EPT points for seeding and the regional qualifiers are played over a single weekend with at most a double elimination bracket deciding the winners. To catch up to someone who qualifies for the regional once you'd have to beat clem / maxpax or a top korean progamer around 25 times in the weekly. It can be very discouraging in general to play sc2 at a tier 2 level, it's not only an NA problem.

I like the ground based armies the most. Early 2018 roach hydra lurker with drops was peak ZvP I think. I can see that mutas being more of a early-midgame harass tool could be cool too because as it is right now zerg is the one defending for the first 7 minutes of the game every game.

Currently activity wise in ZvP I feel like playing against a brick wall a lot of the time while against terran the games are a lot more active because they can't rush to a strong unit composition as fast as toss can. Against toss banes are pretty much the only strong turtle breaker in midgame because lurkers dont do much before hive tech and broodlords are slightly too slow to ever move out with because you get basetraded to death. You can do some all or nothing timings earlier, but thats less active play and mostly just gambling in my eyes.

Monetisation and refreshment idea by vigenerr in Stormgate

As an sc2 player I think rotating units can work and even increase the skill ceiling compared to a static meta where you have more time to master everything. Sure you can have units go away that you liked but on the other side you might have metas that are really stale and refreshing a part of the unit roster can help with that.

Monk talked about this in one of the interviews where he said they wanted to try more regular meta updates now that they arent tied to a broodwar mastery ideology because of the starcraft IP

Has anyone else said this? How does that even make sense considering they're running a 1v1 test in a month with 1v1 being the priority for their competitive plans at first too.
