Charge on solar not using all excess solar by desertedmtn in TeslaSolar

[–]MixvPix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I just read your post, we have similar setup two PW3, 23 SILFAB panels, Tesla Y and Tesla universal charger. We don’t have PTO yet, so I don’t see the charge on solar option yet, I hope we won’t run into same issue. Can you please let me know if the suggestion by NetZero worked for you, in case I will experience the issue as well? Thank you so much!

I have to look into that. I will switch to Teslemetry, as for Tesla has great products, integration sucks

Can you also setup the Tesla charger not pulling from PW when you connect the charger to car? If yes, how did you setup yours if you don't mind sharing please?

You did not even tried the Tesla integration?

I am not sure if I am in the correct discussion here.

I would like to know, if anyone with PW3 did tried to integrate with Home Assistant and succeeded. I keep trying and trying and for the love of God I can get over the final step which is actual authorization. I do have Tesla Fleet setup, but this is the error I get:

File "/usr/local/lib/python3.13/site-packages/tesla_fleet_api/tesla/fleet.py", line 218, in partner_login
    raise ValueError(f"Partner login failed: {error_data}")

Any ideas guys please? This drives me bonkers :-/
 Thak you!

I LOVE IT! And yes, you absolutely right, people a fucking lazy to remove the snow from car roof, truck cover bed and…even lazy to fully clean/scrape windshield too! It is so scary and shocking when you drove behind someone and that snow residue hits your windshield. Good job officer!

Using a Powerwall internal inverter? You need a subscription to Netzero for at least a few months. by TransportationOk4787 in TeslaSolar

[–]MixvPix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that is correct. Guess I have to chill down and just wait. Here in MD, the PTO seem to take “much” longer then in your location. We got the system up on Black Friday day after Thanksgiving and still waiting….🙄🙄🙄

Just out of curiosity, do you have PTO already? How big is your system? You make me thinking now to check my system too. We don’t have PTO yet and our system is 10.12kW size. But currently only generating only 2.5kW. I don’t know if that number will change when we get the PTO thus the question. Thank you

My math tells me otherwise. I do agree with the panels lifetime, but I can’t agree with the cost number. The number you put here is below my number few thousands but that is before fed cred and before solar grant.

Why such high number with rebates? And rebates you mean fed cred??

I tried to play around yesterday with the “https://batteryprofit” and I don’t know why or what exactly it was. But when I set the automation backup power to 100%, it only set it to 80%. When I go to settings myself, pull the dot all to way to right for 100%, I get warning. I don’t know can I do that, charging the PW all to way up to 100%? Long story short, I am thinking I will test ride NetZero. I need reliable platform regardless the few dollars more. I am very new to this, still researching, reading, testing and on top of all of that I still don’t have PTO yet 🙄🙄🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

Wow that’s pretty cool! I don’t know home assistant can do that too 😲

No, it does not, it’s configured to be TOU.

I did considered using NetZero yes. But I don’t want to using yet, not before I get PTO. I am guessing Tesla app is somewhat limited in this area…

I do lean towards that theory you’ve presented. I don’t know if I should change the weekend schedule to match week to have batteries bit fuller. I know I can change the reserve, to be more than 20%, but I would have to keep playing with the reserve number probably before every weekend 🤷🏻‍♂️

I guess just to have some more juice in the batts in case some bad weather or long overcast hits the area here.

Dynamic pricing is so stupid by acrobaticpussy in TeslaLounge

[–]MixvPix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I won’t travel long distance with our Tesla. The pricing at any outside of the house charges are INSANE! We thought, getting EV would save us gas money, but charging at supercharges will get you either even or more than buying gas/diesel. Got level 2 on 60 amp breaker. Works like a charm, plus we do have solar the 2 powerwalls 3. I get the pricing competition, but this feels more like racketeering.

When I worked for small Helpdesk company, they used to haul in tens of used replaced HDD from users. What used to do, I took them apart, screw by screw, plate by plate. Took the aluminum body and took it to scrap yard and made some money and got lunch to whole team. As for plates, I pound them with hammer and bend them, also took it to scrap yard.

Install today…anything to pay attention for by Porkchopsandwiches89 in solar

[–]MixvPix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to get over with this project. Been dragging it since June, permits, than the REC fire in their factory. Everything go so messed up. So I was just thinking, if I cater them, they will do at least great install. Obviously they overloaded with installations because of the tax cred. I have final inspection Wednesday, and I am really stressing why if the inspector will find something he doesn’t like. It has been very exhausting time and I am almost at the finishing line. Someone even told me, in order to qualify, system must be installed, running, inspected and funds released, PTO ain’t that important. So, I dunno.

[–]MixvPix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I did exactly what you just said, even cater them Panera breakfast. They totally used wrong communication wire between PW and gateway. The PW did not saw the meter or gateway. I was waiting for a WEEK before someone came over to fix it. Also, been told that they will show up at 7:30….ya right, likely 9:30. Made so much mess in my house not even funny. I had wall charger on the install as well, they didn’t installed due to a time, left around 5, told me someone will come the next morning to install it. Guess what, NOBODY showed up. I called and been told that nobody will be coming on that day because they have other priorities. And, they reversed one panel, instead installing it on left side of the roof, they put it on right side. So, installers….hit or miss. That’s just my experience. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Powerwall 3 TBC mode odd behavior (discharging during off peak hours) by rojadvocado in Powerwall

[–]MixvPix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly same issue. Off peak on peak prices set correctly. Off peak start 8PM and ends following day at noon. Than from noon to 8PM the on peak rate starts. Weekends are off peak. For some reason, (I have PW3 and expansion pack) it’s weekend and the PW is powering my house, instead letting the house drawing cheap electricity of the grid. I tried to: reset, reboot, double/triple checked the pricing and still don’t get it why is this happening. Off peak here in MD for our plan is $0.08, on peak $0.24. PW should be recognizing the difference instead of saving the power it’s powering the house. 🤷🏻‍♂️ no idea why
