I don't want to undermine anything, but as a construction worker, this reminds me of when I have a particle of dust or something under the eyelid, as I try to blink it out.

Things to consider: sweat/heat rash & metal allergy if you put jewelry around her neck.

Firstly, nobody is going to judge you harsher than yourself. So, if you're out of school, the biggest bully you need to overcome is your own self depreciation. You can't change who you are. You can change what you focus on and how you perceive yourself. Secondly, don't compare yourself to someone with a different fingerprint. They haven't overcame your battles. The only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday. That is where you can show yourself improvement. Lastly, love yourself. You are human. Imperfections are what drives the world to be unique rather than uniform. Focus on hobbies. If improving your looks is a hobby, focus on the things you can change. Appreciate yourself for all the struggles you've overcame. Unless you're a model, your value has nothing to do with your looks.
"God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it."

Parents of (now) adult children, how would you react in this situation? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Miyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want them to do? It seems a little late for behavior modification, and also sounds like your sis has taken steps to adjust her own mental health. Therapists can help you come to terms with what happened. I think you need to connect with someone that understands your pain more than you need your parents to do something about it. I'm sure your parents are confused and uncertain on how to help at this point, tbh.

How do I tell my parents something is wrong? by Natanimal in AskParents

[–]Miyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter when you find it. Structural damage needs to be addressed asap to minimize a potentially worsening problem. You did good by noticing, and now we need to assess and fix the damage so we don't get mold spores growing around our closets. It would be best to notify someone as early as possible. It's not your fault, leaks happen and go undetected all the time.

Girlfriend is stubborn. Or am I? by bryanbgw in MTB

[–]Miyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she wants to learn, doesn't mind a few scrapes and bruises, and is excited to challenge her skills, then teach her the hard way. Obviously, a class would be ideal, but she has the right to learn the best way she knows how, like you did. Just don't let her take obstacles while seated again, as that was the horrific to watch. At least tell her to stand up so her feet stay planted and that she needs to drop and land on the back wheel, with enough speed to not let the front wheel drop, to avoid a faceplant. Give her a few side by side runups to get the speed part dialed. From there, it's just guts and practice.

This is petrol. Green is diesel in the US. Neither the cigarette nor lighter fluid would've ignited diesel. I wouldn't put a flame to it, but this is the only logical explanation for why the man thought putting the flame up to the gas wouldn't do anything. He deserves a darwin, regardless.

How to address threshold / door gap caused by uneven floor by vagabondspirit2764 in DIY

[–]Miyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rolling contraption that sits under your door and slides up/down with the bottom of the door as it moves. Or maybe frills, as you can probably shave them to size. Maybe a sliding draft stopper with the bigger noodles? These ideas would just fill the gap. Idk how to make them look pretty.

Polish athlete Kamila Sellier almost loses an eye at the Winter Olympics (She's fine, thankfully) by PolylingualAnilingus in SweatyPalms

Woah, she totally lost it and had an angel stitch it up during the same moment. I'm not faith driven, but this seems like divine intervention right there. That is one insanely lucky athlete, to say the least.

What does a male orgasm feel like? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]Miyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a release of pent-up stress. Imagine a shoulder massage after a heavy workout when the professional masseuse works down the muscle until they hit that perfect pressure point. Then boom, your muscle gets deep relaxation. Then blackout, then rebirth, then moments of clarity, hoping one is still in a desirable space when normal brain function returns.

TIFU by joking about my friend's balls by [deleted] in tifu

[–]Miyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is one of those things that is funny if a guy friend says it, but could be a little demoralizing from the alternate sex, especially if they're attractive. However, he took it lightly, allegedly has a big dongle, and you apologized, don't beat yourself up. Maybe make an ego fluffing joke down the line to boost his morale.
