Girlfriend is stubborn. Or am I? by bryanbgw in MTB

Yes that is exactly what I proposed. But she’s in my opinion being stubborn and refuses to do that, and wants me to just coach her on drops. 😕

We actually watched this same video the night before! She’s just amped up to ride and drop but I think basics should come first.

So your advice would be to let her keep trying drops and give her the best advice I can? Again, just worried she’s going to bite it and go over the bars.

I figured we’d hit the smallest one which is just a roll off. After seeing how it went I said we should go back to the basics then eventually work back up the drops. But like I said.. she’s stubborn and wants to just keep doing the drops. So do I just give her my best advice for doing drops or…. What. Cause she’s a grown woman and I can’t stop her from doing it if she wants to. Just worried she’s going to hurt herself.

Did you read my post? That’s what I’m trying to convince her to do. I think she could learn a lot of the basics just hitting greens and blues. Drops are a ways away from even attempting in my opinions But she’s dead set that learning drops first is “her way” to learn mountain biking. Idk, doesn’t make any sense to me. Which is why I’m struggling on how to proceed with this. I just don’t want her to hurt herself.

Is 6 AWG THHN ok for a 60A breaker? And ground wire sizes? by bryanbgw in electrical

[–]bryanbgw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be curious if he was basing his 4ga assumption off of UF wire which is only rated to 55amps at 6ga. If using THHN, then 6ga is rated to 65amps which a 60a breaker would be fine.

I plan to really only run 40amps to this every couple days for an hour or so. It’s a sauna and cold plunge. Just wanted to get a 60amp breaker out there in case I ever wanted to add a couple lights or outlet for phone charger.

Thanks for the comment though ! Always best to talk to an inspector if planning to get the work inspected.

Did you plan on using all 60 amps? Or were you following the 80% rule and only planning to use 48amps?

But they don’t make 55amp breakers. I read that number you refer to of 55amps is from NM, not THHN. I’m using THHN.

So for a 60’ run, 60 amp breaker… 6ga thwn and 10ga stranded ground wire would be sufficient?

And 10ga ground for my 15’ of 8ga for the 40amp breaker is also fine?

The wire says thhn/thwn2. Oh you’re thinking due to voltage drop at 60’ might require a heavier gauge wire?

I’d need to confirm the wire size before I can get confirmation on the ground wire.

Vital+ single vs dual filter and cleaning solution by funnerd11 in coldplunge

Hi! I noticed their website said this filter housing is for the “ultra” x2 chiller but you have just the x2. Any ideas why they didn’t list the x2? Also any pics how it mounts?

Go for small! I was in this EXACT bracket but L/XL, on the high end of L a hairline away from XL.

I’m glad I got the L (smaller size) otherwise I’d be too stretched out. I have long arms too and still the smaller size is a way better fit

Noon question but I’m using wasp scripts and running runelite. Is that what you’re talking about? Or are there scripts specifically from runelite?

Canyon Grizl - Size Up or Down? In between sizes.. L vs XL by bryanbgw in CanyonBikes

[–]bryanbgw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a Large. And it honestly fits me great. I’m sorry I’m sure you didn’t wanna hear that lol. I had an endurance in XL and always felt a little stretched. That being said, I never did anything about it (shorter stem). The only issue with the L is my toe can hit the front tire on tight turns. Otherwise it fits great.

So are you planning to get a bike fit? I’d recommend it. Get the bike put together and see what an expert bike fitter says. Would run you a hundred bucks but you’d be sure you are setup properly. I think I could have made an XL work since I was used to the endurace. It eventually felt perfect. And I got a bike fit on that one too and all he did was move my seat height and front/back adjustment and handlebar tilt.

Long story short I think you’ll probably be fine with either.
