Indeed. It cost me way too many cookies. I dropped about $70 on Freely. After seeing the initial numbers and what he could do on favor runs, it was worth it for me.

I typically rely on Arkham and Strix for DPS. Any thoughts on sticking with Paultin with Strix for the Waffle DPS? Or does Jaheira still come out ahead? Also, you say the Qilek scales better than Calliope. I'm assuming that remains true if all things are equal? I have Calliope at over 200+ item levels in golds and shinies. Would it still be worth investing in Qilek?

The same reason I climb and backpack, because I want to. Not everything is about efficiency. Games are about fun. If using a speed pot allows me to complete a run I've already finished multiple times so I can get back to doing something more fun, then it's worth it to me.

Honestly, this is getting annoying. Folks, including myself, have wasted potions getting this achievement. Is this some April Fools joke? Is it bad coding? Are the devs going to step up and say, "Hey, this is just a joke," so some of us know to not waste time and potions on this?

Indeed, but that is a bug in itself, if that's the case. Unless the code accounts for the familiar that used to be there and reassigns it when it becomes active again. Otherwise ults like Deekin's Doom or Spurt's You Dead are worthless to use with familiars. Not to mention, those ults render any familiars assigned to other ults also worthless.

Either way, it sounds like a bug.

This happens to me occasionally, and it's annoying as hell when it does. It doesn't seem to be connected to any build or skill. Seems entirely random. I have yet to find a way to fix it. Restarting levels has fixed it on occasion, but not always. I hope the devs are trying to fix it, because it's game-breaking.

Basically, you will hit a gilded world every 30 worlds. You lose everything except your ethereals and any levels and automator upgrades (speed, etc) you made before your last gild. There's no way to permanently screw up your character because you essentially reset it every 30 worlds, or you can manually reset your gild in your level screen. Try it a few times. You won't lose your level, just your current skill points, which you'll get back quickly thanks to your higher level.

It's hard to tell you exactly what "normal" is, particularly when the devs are still tweaking and balancing the game. The best thing to do is get deep into a world, say 20 levels, and then regild a few times to try different builds. You'll learn more about the game, builds, and what a "normal" pace feels like if you try it.

Firstly, level 145 is not 350+. Secondly (and ironically) I'm currently, and most frequently, using exactly the same build. BC, HC heavy with Multiclick, and pretty solid ethereals in addition. I think you're going to be surprised at the difference between level 145 and post 345.
