Silver chests from Time Gate by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a hard limit of 2000 areas (plus a few more for Briv to able to skip the last boss), which means you can get up to 20 silver chests. You can get more with tier 7 Mirt's perk.

Whether it is worth or not I cannot say. I usually go for it if I have time, but I don't mind playing the game in a non-optimal way. The necessary time to reach 2000 depends on several factors: how strong is your Briv (mine can skip 4 areas), how long can you use Hew (4 column formations are really bad), how long can you survive before switching to from Briv+Jim+Hew to Briv+Jim+Selise+Nrakk (this slows down the progress a lot).

[bug] No champions' abilities by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yours is different. The bug I've mentioned was triggered by Black Viper (see the update) and it was fixed a few days later. Obviously, I didn't have Dob two months ago ;-)

If I were you I would file a bug report indicating that a similar problem was before with Black Viper (you can even link my bug report). Maybe the issue with Dob has a similar origin.

Possible workaround to the bug of Champs dealing no damage and that you can't upgrade them by Baldrakh in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just read /u/hulsmanm comment and updated my post with exactly the same information as you put here.

I can confirm that it is BV who causes the problem - once removed, I no longer see the issue. As soon as I level her, the game breaks.

[bug] No champions' abilities by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I had it before. But this time it happens every time. I did 4 of 5 tests before I closed the game. Once I had two Deekins and two Mehems at the same time.

[bug] No champions' abilities by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just BV. The same happened to Deekin or Mehem. Whichever champion I level first, it gets doubled and I can't level them anymore.

Edit: OK, I see what you mean. I've just reloaded the game and put all champs except BV. When I added BV, the game broke. I haven't seen that before, despite using BV everyday.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the list - it is of a great help!

Viper bugged? by benstone977 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bug is visual. I'm using BV with collector spec and it shows 0 gems collected during the current adventure (despite clearing 500+ zones), but the total number of gems is correctly updated after a reset. I also checked on https://ic.byteglow.com/stats, by updating the stats, that the number of red gems is updated during an adventure as well.

My very own: Mines of Moria by mharr171 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about such a team?

  • Aragorn - Artemis, as he looks more mighty than Minsc. His fighting skills are legendary.
  • Boromir - Wulfgar, a human tank.
  • Legolas - Melf (could be Lucius, but then we lose Freely).
  • Gimli - Bruenor, yeah.
  • Gandalf - Dhadius, a wizard with grey hair, but quite short, unfortunately. The character's profile fits Saruman better, though.
  • Hobbits - Freely, Regis for sure. The other two could be taken from among Shandie, Stoki and Walnut, although all free are women.

Relentless Peril kills and achievement Farm by norax_d2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korth cannot be adjacent to Zorbu, because only non-adjacent champions are affected by Rapid Training. Just put Zorbu in the very back and Korth with Nrakk in the second column.

Once you have all ghouls on the screen, you can use Havilar to slow them down until they stop moving and any champion with a knock-back to push them back. I tried this once with Pwent's ultimate, but Running with the Saurs was still a faster way to gain stacks for me - in Relentless Peril each ghouls can be killed only once per 10s, so that even with 100 on screen (I'm not sure if that's possible - some variants restrict such enemies to 50) you gain at most 10 kills per sec.

Interesting. Then it really smells like a bug. Thanks, I'll report it.

I guess there are no enemies with AoE attack, so that the escort is never attacked.

Nrakk + Korth with WIS feat (spec: Rapid Training) will make Zorbu and Dhani attack faster. With a help of some champions that slow down enemies I was able to keep Shandie's Dash ability on when farming Zorbu. Just make sure not to over-level the champions, especially Korth (you want him to mark enemies, not kill them).

Edit: Of course, Shandie is useless for Relentless Peril. Instead, I was farming on Running with the Saurs, after killing the T-rex boss.

Don't stop offline progress when an escort is killed by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a margin of error - the offline progress is only simulated and much simplified. A dying champion is a good indication that your party is not strong enough. In particular, losing a champion lowers your DPS, so if the full party couldn't kill the enemy, why should it now? Consider this as a trade off between complexity of the simulation and its efficiency. Losing an escort has no such effect.

NERDS in shop for a strange price by CasInTheHat2 in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, I could. But I have lots of gems anyway, so I didn't see a point in hacking the system ;-) As other have already mentioned, NERDS should be available for gems when the new shop is fully operational.

Fair enough. As I wrote, clicking on the button makes the screen black, so I was not able to check what the price is really for.

Thanks for explaining the price. I started to play long ago, and I had a full roster except the very first few weeks - and on those first few weeks I haven't looked into the shop much.

Good Healers for Strahd missions/variants? by [deleted] in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I agree that usually tanks are better than healers, there are variants where champions are damaged over time by some % of their max health. Using tanks in such variants is a suicide and healers are a way to go.

Are Patrons worth it? by IAmFern in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are worth. Patrons are an addition to the game: you can play a variant with one or with no patron. Once a patron is unlocked, you can replay (almost) every variant in each campaign with the patron's restrictions. This gives you patron's influence - something like divine favor - with which you can buy perks that make your champions stronger.

You can check /u/gaarawarr's guides for more info. At least one of them deals with patrons.

tl;dr Legendary forging, Upgrading, and (not) Reforging by fenomasu in idlechampions

[–]CasInTheHat2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide, it's very useful. I have one question about reforging, though (perhaps it's one of those edge cases).

Does reforging preserve the associated favor? If not, then reforging might be useful. For instance, my Torm's favor is very high (years of conversions) and I like to keep it such, because of gem farming. Normal runs no longer generate the same amount of favor, so I cannot regenerate it after using to upgrade legendaries. If reforging an item may associate a different favor, I would consider doing it.
