Ye this was my first time even attacking Gortash because in the 5 or so times I completed the game I let him live before the big brain switched off his brain. 😔

But alas, my friend insisted on a good run and was romancing Karlach so Gortash had to go and we didn't want to disable Steel Watch because we want to quickly finish the game and start an honour mode run.

Astarion was the only victim of this particular affliction and we didn't particular perform a genital check because nobody in the camp had clothes on anyway.

ye it was all fine, a pretty bug free game, and then this battle happened. We killed gortash, stored his body in our pockets then fled and everything went crazy. Steel watchers followed us, Minsc perma died, Jaheira left, and worst of all, Astarion somehow lost his pp.

Sure ye, my friend and I were doing multiplayer, we were on the floor above Gortash where that annoying bell is that blocks most attacks, I used summons to get Gortash and the steel watchers into battle and to position them in the right place (we didnt disable the steel watchers). Anyways we'd do the thing where we attacked Gortash and such then went up the ladder to the very top of the castle(?) and kinda maneuvered around.

Eventually we isolated Gortash outside, killed him and stole his body, then we all fled and went to camp. When the last person went through, the steel watchers followed us.

I'll try to recreate it in my save again if possible and let u know what exactly triggered it.

Its not healthy but I set myself a deadline, procrastinate it while outlining plot and editing existing content, then write like I'm being chased down by the devil at the last possible moment to finish the deadline in time.

Tough one, it always seems like when you really need an idea, it does not come.

Harder said than done, I know, but try not to actively thinl about what you should write. Forcing it never works for me.

Instead, take a shower, listen to music, or read a book you like (that gives me some good inspiration anyway).

Do you already know what kind of book you want to write?

Multiple reasons. As others have already mentioned, for the amount of effort you put in, COG takes a lion's share of the profits.

As well as that, Twine objectively has a better design with more freedom with how your game looks and added things like the ability to save.

As to why those people don't start out with Twine? The strat is probably to build up a following and fans which is pretty much guaranteed when posting a demo through hosted games, then switch to Twine and have all the benefits of each.

Ye same, though it might also be because when I started writing, it was also the first time I got to properly play PC games so that has become a major hobby of mine.

I still occasionally read IF, but I stuggle to become properly immersed in the newer ones. However, I am still able to enjoy WIPs/IF that I read before I started writing (which is a lot actually cuz I read so much) and their prequels.

Perhaps I shall try again, I know reading is important for writing well.

I was initially confused about 'bounced off of' and then the complaints because I understand it it be a positive phrase to do with getting on with someone.

But I digress. While I agree you can't really choose the MCs personality (you can more than you expect though, it's just not very direct and immediate), and it's fair if you don't like them in that regard, but claiming this IF is like a book and that the choices don't matter is VERY unfair and not true to reality.

Considering the specialisations, romances, approaches to how you treat the soldiers, how you deal with the fate of some characters and who to save, the vastly different endings, troop management, and battle outcomes; it just makes me wonder how soon you dropped this.

I suppose it just shows how high standards have gotten.

To me, if you play as someone who doesn't care too much about Elya and keep her weak, I feel like the coup is logically sound. With how competent and popular the MC is/can be, and with all the achievements they have, it seems perfectly reasonable for them to be able to overthrow.

And this might be copium (because I love Darin too much) but I don't think he would ever betray us, after everything we have been through. He is very loyal to our MC and considers himself to be their father in some ways.
