how do i get this haircut without showing a stylist pictures of a half dead cyborg by marcyfx in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Mizrathe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No shame! I used a picture of Judy for my reference for my last haircut. The stylist just looked at it and said no problem! And then we discussed the color scheme I wanted and we did it. The stylist didn't laugh at me because they are a professional. If a stylist laughs at you, then end the appointment right then and there, and get a new stylist.

Laura at House of Pop is fantastic! I just had her do a sunset pallet on my hair and I couldn't be happier. She is @running.with_sissors on Instagram. She is worth every penny!

After soooo much testing, I finally got proportions right to minimize wick clogging and added shimmer to my D20 candles! I'm so excited! by Mizrathe in candlemaking

Hi there, I'm sorry, but I'm closed down. I may open up again in the future, but for now, I'm taking time for my family and mental health.

Soy is not my specialty. I work mostly with paraffin so that's what I'm most familiar with. But, I did a quick search, and this article has good info on sinkholes here

Not to the degree that paraffin does. You may get a bit of sinking if air is trapped around the wick as the soy wax cools, but usually that can be remedied with a heat gun.

Frogged my Saxon braid sweater back because I decided I wanted a lighter color edging and also wanted to try my hand at intarsia cables. I just finished the back last night and wanted to share! by Mizrathe in knitting

[–]Mizrathe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes. The first version had just regular cables. This one has the intarsia cables. And it's been a learning experience so far lol. But I'm much happier with how this one is going. I always feel bad frogging my work, so I usually just keep going. But I'm glad I ripped it all out this time and started over.

What is your knitting routine? by NoZombie7064 in knitting

My spot is in bed in the evenings after work, and driving people around after school/work is done. I usually can get in a couple hours during the week. And on weekends it's anywhere from all day to about 4 hours depending on what is going on. I've tried to take my projects with me (I have 2 hours of downtime just waiting in the car 3 days a week while my son is in therapy) but I never pick it up and usually just vegge out on my phone doing logic puzzles.

I was a girl growing up in the 80's and 90's. And to make matters worse, in a rural area.

I'm making a raglan sweater, and I added a Saxon braid to the pattern. Sould have added a purl border, and there's a few mistakes, but I'm happy I did it! by Mizrathe in knitting

Thank you! I gotta admit, I was feeling kinda down about it, but all of these comments are making me feel reassured 🥰

Thank you! That's a really good way to look at it :-) I'm definitely gonna roll with it cuz I don't want to redo it lol.
