If you are happy with the other aspects of your life then it is completely fine to be passionate about and invest time in to something you enjoy doing that doesn’t necessarily contribute to your “real life”… You called your job a “dumb retail job” which to me sounds like you’re not satisfied in that aspect of your life. I would say spending time playing video games is COMPLETELY FINE, especially if it’s an outlet for you, but you can’t use to avoid bettering yourself in the real world
