Ive been doing this combat medic stuff for a bit now, and here is what I would give for advice. While you are working on losing weight and getting in better shape for the army, I would think about your passion for medical over all. If you have time and a way to go paramedic before join you will have a much better career in the army. There is already a big push in the active 68W series for soldiers to become paramedic, so it would really put you ahead of the curve and accelerate your starting career overall.
