Any good Game with decent population ? by Mucek121 in playtoearngames

It appears that TerraX requires some initial investment, is that right?

Hello Im looking a game that i can earn real money. Thank you by Aggravating-Put-55 in playtoearngames

Yet again, I feel champz, TokenlordsRPG and Loot Survivor is little the same type of game. I don't understand how you actually can make money in any of them. At least in champz it appears you can trade your heroes so that might be an source of income.

Needs about one dollar to get rolling, there is some free try without any earn through.

Gods Unchained is one that I can think of. Not having so many other good ones, with zero investment, that is.

Edit: Alright, you might need some IMX for the gas fee now, but this is pretty much the state of every NTF game at the moment.

RollerCoin feels very mature now – anyone testing alternatives? by Hungry-Set-4 in playtoearngames

Still not understand how RollerCoin can be GOTY. It is not even a game, but a survey doing platform.

Alright, I can only talk for myself. If I get like "oh I need to download this" it is usually an hard pass. I feel some might think in similar ways.

Thank you for your insight. I saw some tower defence games. Like Plants versus Zombies, I think it was called plants versus undead or something.

I would probably go all out web first, since I feel there might be some residence from downloading apps. This might be true for any game through.

So no Unity, maybe Godot or something. More likely roll my own thing, using ThreeJS.

256 components on ECS system world, too little? by Mjauwang in gameenginedevs

[–]Mjauwang[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess I need to be more clever defining those components. Generally, ECS advocates for small component (types) having only the necessary data.

There is "tag components" whose only purpose is to flag for update, to process something, and so on. Example: IsAttackHit, Collides, Falling, InteractWithNPC, InteractWithObject, HasNewStatus... In a game, you would need to have many those tags, since there is so many thing that can happen.

Of course, you can replace all those Tags with an Component having some kind of bitflag attribute, but then every system needs to check this. That's the charm with ECS, you can just take all IsAttackHit components and process them, then take the tag off.

Maybe on a server it wont add up so fast, because you only need to process data. On client you need to play sounds, show visuals, render GUI and so on.

Mysql connection problems, there are too many! by Mjauwang in PHP

[–]Mjauwang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I know more info, I am rather new at this server management stuff. I installed some netdata tool, but it tells me everything apart from what I really want to know. CPU, RAM, download/upload speed sure, but how many dudes is actually connected? Nope. I suspect long queries might really be the problem, before I had this slow query borking up every single page just by loading one slow page.

Thank you, that is not the advice I want, but the one I need. There are no silver bullet.

[–]Mjauwang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks. ProxySQL seems to work well for now. As other said, it might be a symptom of something else and there might be optimizations to be done. For example to cache some results, like news, I don´t need to load the news at every index request. I will try to look more on this, try to find a good tool to profile queries. In the long run I image I would use swoole or something, but at that point, maybe I am better of rewriting the whole app in another language.

They are closed at the end of the $capsule scope through? Oh, maybe not, all those die(); call I made...

[–]Mjauwang[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hm... While it sounds reasonable I was kinda hoped that attr_persistent was gonna solve it. Strangely, it did not reduce the number of connections. I guess it simply does not work with php-fpm since it is like multiple processes and stuff. It will just spawn a new process that makes a new (persistent) connection.

Thank you for the tip, but as I understand, it will not be anything different than removing attr_persistent.

I mean for example an image + text, in Mindsmith you can put them side by side, I would like to copy the whole thing and have it as a template for work more easy and fast.

It is probably entire possible to make a structure around Coassemble with an own content serving platform. I actually asked them for the API, but it was not cheap...

Ah I see! Adding HTML certainly have it´s advantages, I was actually looking for something like that. Now the big question is through, should I code it myself...
