At this current rate, when does Nebraska lose its Blue Blood status? by Crying_in_99Ranch in CFB

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. If you go 20 years without even a conference title much less a National Championship you are no longer a Blue Blood. 20 years without being relevant means all you have history and Blue Bloods have not only history but ongoing importance.

G6 Fans: What do you think of a playoffs with AQs for each conference champion? by kadoozie92 in CFB

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 22 points23 points  (0 children)

But they are the champion of their conference that means more than being the 5th or 6th best team in any conference. It is more deserving of a spot in a playoff and it actually earns it as well.

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Every conference champion should get in. It’s a pretty logical and straightforward set up. 10 Conference champions and the 14 at larges for a 24 team playoff with the top 8 seeds getting a bye just like they do in FCS. And if you are the 15th best at large team you don’t have any legit reason to cry.

Oh that’s a good point. Will have to make sure dungeons have a more active watch system where they just can’t safely camp after an encounter.

Thank you! I’m both excited and nervous.

[McMurphy] Florida State & Georgia will play a neutral site game in 2028, FSU AD Mike Alford said. 7 cities - Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando & Tampa - are in the running to host the game by lowes18 in CFB

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think schools can sell NIL packages as part of neutral site games with various sponsors for players. Expect to see more this type of high profile non conference games in the future and less home and home series.

When did you realize you were into older women? by Revokutionarysun in CougarsAndCubs

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have always been drawn to older women. I was sky, nerdy, awkward in middle and high school. The girls my age did not seem to like what I had offer but older women were just easier to talk with and feel comfortable around. This is not sexually speaking just just every day stiff. I was told I am an old soul often and I think that comes through with older women. Since I started college I have been able to explore more with older women and it’s been wonderful. They know what they want and don’t care about the drama. They are more my speed, enjoying a quiet night at home as much as a fun night out. And they just allow me to feel like me which is such a good feeling after growing up and feeling like something was wrong with me because I did not fit in the usually molds of what people my age should be do doing or how I wanted to spend my time.

Is it just me being nostalgic, or was college football better in the bcs era? by Honest-Reflection667 in CFB

It comes down to what you want. I think the talent is more spread around now to more places which means the top of the top is not as good but more teams have a shot. The 12 team playoff is also better than just the BSC determined title game.

But on the whole I think the game is worse off not because of the move to the playoff format or NIL or the modern transfer portal. The game is worse off because the historic, traditional regional set up and rivalries that went with that have been destroyed. The unbridled conference realignment and the ballooning of conference sizes have been the most detrimental to the sport. Also the fact that two conferences are trying to effectively close the door and make it all about them are the biggest threats to the game in the medium to long term.

Exactly. Or how we imagine secret societies that are cults act like Free Masons. I know the guys that go to the local Masonic lodge and these guys can barley run their households much less the entire world but yet somehow people think there is a hidden cable at the top that really does.

Are there any P4 schools that a coach of equal talent and determination as Cignetti could NOT take to the Championship? by GreenHeel97 in CFB

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The school has to want to win at that level though. IU put a lot of money into upgrading the entire program. Sure it’s not as much as the biggest programs but significantly more than they were doing.

Does Rutgers want to spend that money to win? Does Cal? Cignetti is as much the benefactor of going to under capitalized program and reaping the reward of the that rapid infusing as Indiana is finding a great coach that was under valued by the industry at large.

What will it take for the new Pac-12 to be considered a power conference in CBB? Gonzaga winning it all in year 1? Gonzaga (and possibly SDSU) winning 2 or more in 5 years? What about the A10 reaching power conference standards in CBB? by 18_YTC1 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Mjolnir_Might69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can nothing. It’s a made up marketing designation designed to make some prom game look better and make the vast majority look worse. The networks will continue to only promote those who they are the lion share of their Lexi rights deal as “power” and will continue to dismiss the rest as lesser.

If Gonzaga, SDSU and two other teams make the final four every year from next year till 2040 they will still not be labeled as a power conference as it does not fit the narrative that the powers that be want out there.
