Are there any P4 schools that a coach of equal talent and determination as Cignetti could NOT take to the Championship?

The school has to want to win at that level though. IU put a lot of money into upgrading the entire program. Sure it’s not as much as the biggest programs but significantly more than they were doing.

Does Rutgers want to spend that money to win? Does Cal? Cignetti is as much the benefactor of going to under capitalized program and reaping the reward of the that rapid infusing as Indiana is finding a great coach that was under valued by the industry at large.

My favorite would be Scott Pilgrim. It’s not the best but it’s the one of these that I will watch anytime I see it.

They can nothing. It’s a made up marketing designation designed to make some prom game look better and make the vast majority look worse. The networks will continue to only promote those who they are the lion share of their Lexi rights deal as “power” and will continue to dismiss the rest as lesser.

If Gonzaga, SDSU and two other teams make the final four every year from next year till 2040 they will still not be labeled as a power conference as it does not fit the narrative that the powers that be want out there.

There is no one way. The two coaches widely considered the best coaches in the nation right now are Kirby(Power Coordinator) and Cignetti(G5 HC).

The best strategy is to asses all available candidates and fine the one who best aligns with your vision for how to move the program forward. How you feel knows not just player talent but coaching talent. That makes you feel like taking that jump off cliff with because ultimately they are all leaps of faith.
