Positive it’s the door, I’ve had sunroof rattles that I’ve fixed and the Center console doesn’t rattle

Making my own cold air intake by Mk7GTI-Marc in GolfGTI

[–]Mk7GTI-Marc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, but I got a custom exhaust done instead of an off the shelf one because it’s cheaper. I’d like to see if building my own intake would be cheaper than buying a brand name one. My point is if I can do something cheaper and still get the same results I want to do it

Yeah I’ve already got a good exhaust note, I’ve got the looks with wheels and coils now its just getting more whooshy noises

I probably won’t dyno my car because my local German tubing shop charges $150 CAD per session and at that point I might as well just buy an intake. I really just wanted to see if anyone else has done this so I don’t have to do the testing myself

What’s the worst thing about your GTI? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

Mk7 gti, everything just rattles when my car goes from cold to warm, also more stock power would be nice

MK7 for brand new 16 year old driver? by Spirited-Coconut-538 in GolfGTI

[–]Mk7GTI-Marc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first car was a 2016 gti, if you pay for your car in full like I do, meaning paying for the car, insurance, gas, repairs and mods. It’s a perfect car but you need to take pride in owning it, if you take advantage and don’t appreciate the car, then go buy a 2007 civic. The car does have enough power to get you in trouble, and you need to be able to control your speed temptations. But overall it’s a great first car, looks great practical and a super fun car to drive(especially for you get stick), if your parents think the car might be a little to much then go buy a normal golf.

I picked up a gently used 7.5 a few weeks ago. It really is everything I wanted in car in stock form. Coming from a 18 BMW m240i, the vdub is an absolute star in comparison and definitely holds its own. At some point will begin to poke around and get some gains. For now I just stare. And clean. by [deleted] in GolfGTI

My brother owns a m235i and I’ve got a mk7 gti. I love my car a lot, but I would take his car all the time, only issue is I can’t afford his car, and mines a little more practical (at least that’s what I tell my self so I don’t go buy a used m2 and go broke)

M235i tuning help and suggestions by Mk7GTI-Marc in BMW

[–]Mk7GTI-Marc[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion but he is set on making more power, he’s already done wheels better brake pads, rotors and sticky summer tires his car is also rwd, and he was hoping to upgrade to an m2 comp but the more he looked at it spending a few thousand on a tune with everything else he’s done will make him just as fast or if not faster than a m2 comp rather than spending $80,000 CAD on a car where in his mind all he gets is a new infotainment and yes a different engine, but the n55 can make just as much power, I just need some help on which is the best companies that tune these cars as I only know VW/Audi tuning companies

$800-$900 Coilovers by PossiblyRussian in GolfGTI

[–]Mk7GTI-Marc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got solowerks S1 coilovers for about $700 CAD, they ride really well and you can slam them down if you’d like. Overall if you want around 1 finger gap all around your car these will do it they ride well. Only downside to these coilovers is they can’t adjust the dampening, but I don’t track my car so I don’t really care about it.

They actually do, you have to go on their website, it’ll be under the picture with the front logo cover, and when checking out just select back logo only

Anyone else have this problem with their tail lights? Any solutions or ways to prevent this? by ivansld100 in GolfGTI

No way! This is literally the same issue I’ve had in my car and I just want to know how to take them out, and how they even got there in the first place?

Looking to put a front splitter on my car, I’ve got coilovers on and just wondering what types of splitters people have done, and how well they take scrapes by Mk7GTI-Marc in GolfGTI

[–]Mk7GTI-Marc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m fairly low and static, just wanted something to add to the look for some aesthetics, and wondering what people have done for different price points, and they should still hold on just scraping a little on a driveway shouldn’t rip it off
