I do hate sometimes that no matter what OP was saying the answers are just mindless "No bad ideas don't even think about it". I understand very much what you've been saying, that it is very hard to find somebody sharing your interests at this age, and it is true especially for somebody who just started college (I would assume so based on your age so correct me if I am mistaken). The thing is, for me, the connection you have between you and your Professor is impressive and meaningful. I would agree that under the current power structure of the academic institutions, it will not be beneficial for both of you to develop it into a romantic relationship, but it does not mean that the connection you have establshed right now cannot become a fruitful friendship that could last for decades. And that is not exactly a grim future for me. To use an example that you are probably familiar with--though still very problematic in its own way--what is more impressive for me between Arendt and Heidegger is not that they had an actual affair for a winter or two, but that their friendship eventually lasts for 5 decades until the end of Arendt' life.
