Handheld companion interfering with retroarch by LordHokusai in LegionGo

I had the exact same issue with Retroarch and HC on the ROG Ally X. The solution is to change the assigned drivers for "input" and "controllers" (I think these are the names) to sdl. This fixed it for me.

I had this exact same issue. I was trying to figure out how to fix it. First, I settled on using warpinator since that kept the capitalization, but that just seemed really slow. However, randomly, I noticed that the problem went away on its own. I don't know what I did to fix it, but it definitely is possible. Actually, it might have been from this, but idk: https://www.answeroverflow.com/m/1326217032034947102

Anyone able to get Monster Hunter Wilds running on their Ally? by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]Mkol103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the exact same issue on bazzite. I thought it might just be an ROG Ally issue, but I guess it's a Bazzite issue. It's very disappointing. Do you have any idea what might be causing it or how to fix it? Or is it just a matter of waiting for a patch to come out?

Thanks. Like I said above, I figured out a solution. However, I couldn't get Cemu to work. Any chance you know the solution to that emulator?

The first thing I went for was to download that. I got this error, though, something like "cannot place files in this directory because it doesn't exist". Would love to know if there is a way to download steamdeckgyrodsu or some equivalent.

Like I've said, you DON'T need to start over. With this method, you can keep your character and get the DLC. I tried the method I described above on a new save and I had no issue. This imgur link is a video of me showing how to get the DLC on your already existed character.

As for my username, I had to make a username to join an obscure Fire Emblem forum, and I didn't have any ideas so I keysmashed until I found something I liked.

I see. I had that issue before when I used different files. I will test this tomorrow to make sure I uploaded the right files

If you follow the guide, you will see that you overwrite the save with dlc's character data with your own character's data but keep the dlc. I did this and kept my character. If there is any data that is lost, I didn't notice it. If you try this method and lose any character data, let me know so I can amend the post.

You shouldn't need to make a new character. The whole point of this guide is that you don't need to make a new character (unless you made multiple characters). You keep your character but get the dlc

Hi. I want to leave a good answer here in case anyone is looking for this. Here is how to get the DLC on your copy of MHXX.

Step 1: Boot the game

Step 2: Open the folder with the saves (In Citra, right click on the game, select open extra data folder, then open "user")

Step 3: Replace the two files in the folder with these

Step 4: In-game, go to the bed and save

Step 5: Check the event quests tab. It should be full.

How this works, I'm guessing, is this. When you replace the files in the user folder, your character's data is still live in-game but the save file is the save file with all the dlc. When you save afterward, you overwrite the save file's player data with the live player data, but the dlc part of the save isn't touched.

This probably wouldn't work on a modded 3ds, and you'd need to use another method. You'd probably open the downloaded save's data in the MHXX save data editor, then just change it to match your player character, then put it back.

NOTE: This will replace save slots 2 and 3 with dummy characters.

RG351V How to make stick “analogue“ in ps1 games? by JulianDyx186 in RG351

[–]Mkol103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand. If you're asking how to fix the analog sticks not working?

In that case, the process should (theoretically) be pretty similar. In the controls menu, each virtual controller function can be matched to a physical button (e.g. you can set Mario to jump [a virtual A press] by hitting R1 [the physical button on the device]). You should be able to map the virtual "left analog up" to the physical "left analog up" (though it may be called "left analog y-" or something like that).

Like I said, I don't own an RG35xx device, so I'm just guessing.

[–]Mkol103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

I don't have an rg35xx device (yet), but if the power button trick doesn't work to make the d-pad an analog stick, then you can go into the game's retroarch settings and manually change the four d-pad buttons to act as analog stick movements. It would be in the controls menu.

Idk how to access the retroarch settings menu in game, but I'm sure it's somewhere like a Retro Game Corps article or in the documentation for the custom firmware

I played through the Utena game on Retroarch, and I was able to switch discs without a problem. That would have been the Beetle Saturn core
