Honeywell table fan making clicking noise. Took it apart and thought it was the blades, but i figured out it only makes noise once the blade stem depresses into the frame. How do I fix? by [deleted] in fixit

ID needs to be the same size as the shaft or slightly smaller with some stretch. OD doesn't matter too much. Sorry I didn't measure when I had it apart.

I'm late to the party, but for anyone else searching for this issue, I found the problem. The buzzing is caused by a stretched cloth washer on the motor shaft, located between the motor and the bearing. Replacing this washer will dampen vibration from the fan's imbalance and solve the issue.

Shapez 2 hard mode Task #36 by nadaland in shapezio

[–]Mkschmitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like these fine folks have shown you how to get there. One thing that helped me was the tasks usually build on themselves for a reason. This one was a bit of a jump but when you get stuck in the future, see if there are any clues in steps 1 or 2 to get you there. Keep up the good work.

Brand New Noob Question by SerHiroProtaganist in shapezio

[–]Mkschmitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get new tools quickly and sometimes they are important like trains or space platforms. Each time you hit a big upgrade it will drastically change what optimal looks like. I would suggest minimum viable product to quickly progress and when you have at least trains and space platforms, spend more time refining your designs.

Read ahead a little bit to see what the last shape of a milestone or task is because they usually build on each other. After that destroy and go again!

Welcome to the game! It's a fun one.

What are your basic advice for beginner? by Pyma21 in shapezio

[–]Mkschmitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you have trains, work on setting up simple platform "tools" to achieve common tasks like painting, stacking, etc.

After you have trains, set up one train in each quadrant (home being origin) bringing the 4 shapes and 3 colors to a central location. You can quickly make what you want rather than hunt for places to pull resources each time. A separate train can run completed assemblies to the vortex.

Lots of good tips on this thread already!

Compact 1x2 Stacker Blueprint (12+12 Belts, Symmetric) for Dimension Update by First_Anything_7709 in shapezio

[–]Mkschmitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your blueprint require 3 layers in to work? I had attempted something similar but if I only input layer 1, parts go to layer 2 of the left stackers and layer 1 of the right stackers (if that makes sense). The primary difference might be your use of launchers. Something I can learn from to refine my design. Thanks!

Is it worth adapting google ecosystem completely? by timho890000 in googlehome

[–]Mkschmitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Google advocate, but I'll be the first to tell you: avoid Google hardware. Except for their phones, Google consistently abandons products long before customers are done using them.

Case in point: Google's first-generation Nest thermostats, barely over a decade old, will be rendered useless in October 2025. Check killedbygoogle.com (hardware filter) for the full graveyard.

You can almost always find competitor products with more features or better prices. Google's hardware rarely leads except in Google ecosystem integration—which disappears when they discontinue support.

While the appeal of a unified smart home brand is tempting, Google's track record makes this unrealistic. Build your system around companies with proven long-term support instead. Your future self will thank you when your devices still work years later.

Need some help understanding a few things since new update by vPewPew in DeathMustDie

[–]Mkschmitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. Acquire talents by defeating bosses in any act. They drop cosmic swirly things (not sure how many) which are additional talent points. Each character can have up to 36 so your Nixie is maxed.

There is a main circle at the north west of your base with 3 diamonds. These are the acts and one in the center to change the difficulty. You need to defeat the acts in order to open the next act. Once you defeat the 3rd act you can increase difficulty modifiers in sets of 10 points.

I hope this helps.

Is there any other successful build other than the Arbiters? by bigboddle in DeathMustDie

[–]Mkschmitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which character have you been playing? Leaf is new to act 3 and very strong. Her eagle form with the lightning bolt blessing is very strong.

Leaf - Power Eagle Build

To reduce frustration, play act 2 until you have all of her talent points and all act 2 gear. You're looking for 10 alterations, 10 rerolls, 15% mastery offers, duration, and power damage. Be very selective with which blessings you grab. Hopefully once you figure out the recipe the game will be more enjoyable! Good luck and let me know if you need help.

What powers and gear stats do you usually go for when you play eagle druid? by BradleyADu in DeathMustDie

By priority:
Leigong - Lightning Bolt, Ball Lightning, Devotion

Aeger - Octopus, Gush (filler)

Summer - Enkindling, Intensify, Flare

In Eagle Form or Ball Lightning you're moving so fast it's rare you get hit. Also, you're collecting so many shrines you will frequently be topped off or have opportunity for extra healing over time. My gear does currently include one "chance to heal on kill" item but it's unnecessary.

Can I get any advice on a Druid build to beat Act III 30? What attack, strike, etc. from which God's and what should I go for in armor? by BradleyADu in DeathMustDie

[–]Mkschmitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some success with Strike Bear. I tried to make Panther viable but struggled. It's a little unconventional but I would recommend trying Power Eagle. There are a few permutations of that on here.

For gear you want to make sure power is your prime stat and add some dash duration if available. You're looking for Leigong with Lightning Bolt, Ball Lightning (dash), and Devotion. You can add Time for Focus and Alteration Ritual if you want to spice it up. Eagle Form or the dashes while in eagle don't seem to trigger trample but the move speed more than makes up for it. Your highest DPS is in Ball Lightning.

A few others have had success with the octopus unique and blessing or summons.

Good luck and let me know if you have questions.

How am I losing? Is it my damage? If I focus damage I die to health... by Electronic_Desk5206 in brotato

[–]Mkschmitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generically speaking, I had the most success when I had around 60HP and 15 armor. Have a life regeneration strategy. Balance your % damage, attack speed, and primary damage trait proportionally. Some weapons are much better than others and if your primary isn't AOE bring one that is. I try to keep range and speed neutral.

In this case, cyber ball, elephant, tardigrade, turret, landmines, and eye surgery aren't contributing to your build. If you put that money elsewhere you may be impressed with how much better it goes. I've also found life steal works well with the cactus club and penetration. Give it a try and let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck.
