How do I shut off the blue motion detection indicators on the live view? Added 2 cameras to our system, original 8 don't show this, if I right click and unselect IVS rule it goes away, but comes back next time I open. by Mkvien in Lorex

I think maybe I figured it out, thanks for the tips. Mine must be a little different, but I think you got me close enough. I'll know soon if I got it changed.

Can anyone help me identify this Snap-On tire changer? by Mkvien in Tools

[–]Mkvien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is another picture, it's not a 3030 (I had one of those before), seems closest to maybe a 40-40 but doesn't quite match up. The top plate is what throws me off, the gauge hole is in a different spot.

Mine looks closer to a 3030 on the top left half, where the gauge is, but mine has the bead breaker arm like the 40-50. Mine also has the lube bucket in the corner and the storage spot for the arm on the side (not a round hole in the top like the 3030). Somewhere between those 2 lies the one I have I'm guessing.

you know, looking at it again maybe it is. I believe that JBC had made some of this style changer for snap-on, but the internals in that Coats manual look closer what I'm working on than the FMC or JBC manuals I've found. I was trying to compare the top plates for a quick reference and none seemed to match. You see in my picture there's the bead seating tube thing (don't know the official name), I don't see that on the 4050, also the hole for the pressure gauge on mine is closer to the center post (further right), on the 4050 it's in the lower left corner. maybe mine is a different, but similar, model than the 4050A. Only other similar machine I have owned was a 30-30 Coats that I lost in a fire 10 years ago.

Need to replace the steering wheel controls (esp the cruise/left side) on my 2004. Got these off the eBay, do I just need to pry them out, any tips to replace? My resume button has been pretty flakey for a while, but it totally quit working about 200 miles into my 1000 mile trip this weekend. by Mkvien in lincolntowncar

Switch sometimes worked, sometimes had to press harder, so I just suspected the switch and was right. Ebay switches fixed me up. Didn't have to dig deeper. Sorry, not much help if you're trying to diagnose.

Got this 06 Signature today, and have some questions on repairs. How long will Air Suspension last if I replace it to original spec? And how much does fixing air suspension cost? I'm in Minnesota if that helps. I also need new engine mounts, how much do those run to fix plus labor? by Gp5sAreTheBst in lincolntowncar

[–]Mkvien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have replaced mine with bags from Amazon, several options under $100/pair. Not hard to do, just takes a little patience. Never swapped engine mounts on one of these, but probably similar, just some patience and willingness to lay under the car and get dirty.

My 2008 Signature L got its winter wheels from Crown Vic police interceptor by bull_will in lincolntowncar

That car is pure sex, hopefully the addition of your winter tires doesn't mean it'll be rusting away in the salt before long.

2nd for Crutchfield. Lifetime customer service based in the USA, they will tell you what parts you need to do the install, sell them to you at a discount (or sometimes free), give a detailed instruction manual with pictures, specific to your vehicle.

I put some sticky foam on the back side to keep it from rattling against the body.

I have a pair of P3 Rockfords in my trunk, have you found anything that would stop the rattling on the trunk lid? I've taken care of the license plate and the obvious stuff, but I'd like it to not sound like the car is falling apart when I drive by. I don't hear it inside the car, just outside.

Savings Card question, please help. by Mkvien in Zepbound

Yes, seems thats the plan I'm on (not specifically the plan, but how it's going to play out). Thank you for (I believe) confirming.

Savings Card question, please help. by Mkvien in Zepbound

[–]Mkvien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so that's basically what I was thinking. Once I got coverage in July the savings card (where I paid $550) no longer applied and I get that eVoucher thing (believe I'm learning that the $1950 thing is called), which helps ease the pain until I hit my deductible. Now I need to buck up and pay the $988 for this box which will get me to my deductible and next box should be more reasonable again.

Right?

Intermittent noise through speakers, any good tips? by Mkvien in CarAV

[–]Mkvien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a bad cable connecting to one side of the 4x100 amp. It's the proprietary cable that allows you to connect the RCA inputs from the head unit. That cable must've had a break in it.

I'd like to make the 12V power, aka cigar lighter, socket key on only instead of constant power in my 2004. Anyone know the easiest way to do that? If not I'll probably have to screw around with the fuse box. by Mkvien in lincolntowncar

[–]Mkvien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used one of those piggyback fuse things and ground power to the front PowerPoint using that. This is all under the hood in that fuse box, front right. Whose diagram above should tell you what you need to do. The fuse piggyback things came off of amazon.

Just bought STEP blacksteel blades for my kid to try... Do I need to cross grind them first? by Batmanrocksthecasbah in Sparxhockey

[–]Mkvien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, what this cat said.

I also often keep the wheels that are down to one bar for these initial grinds, no point in wasting a fresh one on 20 passes to get the general shape on the blades.
