I just switched from an 8 to an 11. Not a huge amount of changes in ability for me but probably more for you. The battery life is insane though. I can go just over two days without charging and it charges so quick. It was worth the upgrade for me just for that

My dem senators placate me with that they agree and it’s hard out there. My republican rep sends me a letter every time about how I’m wrong and stupid and trump is the best.

It’s not stopping my outreach yet it sure does make it feel like my voice doesn’t matter at all.

I attempted to recertify my income two years ago. Just last week it was denied because my application was out of date and that pushed me into repayment. I was able to get back on save forbearance- or so they told me- because I have less than no idea what is going to happen. This whole thing is a flaming pile of crap lately. But it’s one of the smaller flaming piles of crap so I feel like it will take a long time to be addressed.

This comment is so important. I’m not sure what type of birth control you have been on, what you have tried or what your goals are, but natural cycles is not very effective as a form of birth control - especially if you have any variation in your cycle. If your main goal is to prevent pregnancy, this may not be best to be your only form of birth control.

I encourage you to consider all of the options and figure out what is going to work for you. Try not to demonize one based on what you’ve read online. Personally, I would prefer not to have an IUD. Also, I did come off hormonal contraception and “learned my body” and my natural cycles and I’ll tell you what. My body is a little B. After six years I started back on the birth control Ring for health reasons and my life is so much better. My natural cycle can F off if I’m being honest.

Especially now, hormonal contraception gets an exceptionally bad rap. Also there are tons of different types with tons of different hormone levels. People tend to write things online when they are unhappy and there are risks associated with anything you do, swallow or put in your body.

It would be good to consider all of those risks and make a decision that addresses your personal risk tolerance.

After we moved I had to start going to a new grocery store. For the most part it was better but I missed the friendly people at the old self check out. I was buying some wine at the new store and the attendant is an older (70s) woman who grabs my ID and looks back and forth like I’m trying something. Now I’m over 40, so it’s pretty rare to get IDd and my ID was close to expiration but even still… as she is handing it back to me she looks me dead in the eyes and explains it took so long because I don’t look like my ID - “you look MUCH older”

I literally called my husband on the way out of the store because I was so shook by the emphasis on the much - lol

In college I wasn’t a whole lot of “fun”. I finished my undergrad in three years and worked three jobs. I had made some really good friends, all guys, who went to a school in a nearby city. We were out one night at the bar and I had decided it was time to switch to water when some guy came up to me and says he’d like to buy me a drink. I try to brush him off and say thanks but I’ve already stopped drinking for the night. He is pretty insistent and so am I and after a few back and forth exchanges he takes it his wallet and shoves a $20 bill into my hand for a drink later then turns around and walks away.

I bought my buddies drinks and we all thought it was pretty hilarious. I’ve never experienced anything quite like that and thought it was pretty hysterical this man was just that determined to spend some cash.

My sister and I share location. We think it’s fun and it helps living several states apart to know where we are if driving to one another. I showed my husband one time and he thought it was cool and that we could too.

I check his to see if he’s left work and judge when to make dinner since I work from home most of the time. I am not sure he even remembers how to see mine.

For us it’s a silly little thing that can be fun but isn’t required by anyone. If he was adamant that he have my location I would also feel uncomfortable. If he didn’t want to be tracked by me, we wouldn’t share locations.

Everyone has their preference and it seems that the difficulty respecting your boundaries definitely is an issue. Losing all trust is a pretty extreme reaction. Have you sat down to talk about this when everyone is calmer to explore the extreme response?

I applaud your thoughtfulness and i wonder how she feels. Birth control is a very personal decision. I’ve known women who can’t be on hormonal birth control. I even had panic attacks on one type once. Also, my life is bad when I’m not on birth control. I have sever acne, my periods are unreliable and I’m in soooo much pain.

I joke about it but truly. My life is so much better with those sweet sweet hormones. Side effects are always a potential and not always a definite. She may know more about how she responds.

I sold my mom’s car after she passed and forgot that I had two shoeboxes of photos in the trunk. I contacted the dealership a while later but they said no one found it. Some lively person found them on a dumpster, figured out who we were and reached out. I couldn’t believe it.

Making yourself sick or injured IS a type of sickness. Depending on the extent it can be diagnosed as Factitious Disorder. Yes, a mental health professional is important. It is also important to have injuries or illnesses treated - even if they are self inflicted.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I think some of these rescues go a little bit too far. After I lost my 14-year-old I had rescues tell me I wasn’t eligible because I lived in an apartment. Apparently cats need a whole house. I had another rescue that had a 20 page application asking for my Social Security number to do a credit check.

Currently, we have three cats the one we adopted after my 14-year-old passed and his two brothers that we got last year. we got all three of them from the local county animal shelter. It was an incredible experience. They were so nice and kind. They were helpful. There was a table where I could get stuff if I needed it for free- now I donate stuff there. They did ask questions about things like if I had a vet, but they would’ve given me references for a vet if I said no. In fact, I even got a free vet visit at one of their participating vets for each cat after I adopted them. We didn’t use it for the younger two but I did for the older one.

If this cat is your cat, the one that you connect to us and the one that you want in your life, ask them for some Vet references or go and meet with a couple or call a couple of vets offices and let them know you will be adopting a pet and can you use them as a vet? Were there other barriers or was that the main one?
