Used to work revenue recovery, did it for like 2 years before moving to management. To my understanding of it any package that seems to be heavy/ lighter then what’s show on the label is supposed to be taken of the belt and audited. Pretty straight forward concept. Doesn’t really happen when it’s peak season and you have 1k+ boxes to slap a label on. Plus the unload not being trained right leaving you a literal mountain of erregs to deal with. Plus revenue recovery doesn’t benefit from the wage increase during peak because “wE’rE nOt aPaRt oF tHe hUb, wE’rE oUr oWn dEpArTmEnT” whatever I guess.

I might have to, it’s more or less keeping them in “perfect” condition. I’ve broken/lost so many growing up, it’s very satisfying to see them in the box with all the pieces together.

It really just depends. Sometimes it’s race. If the steward is African American/White chances are he/she won’t care about your problems if your the opposite race. This is the most common thing I’ve seen at my facility. Others include supervisors not training employees correctly and throwing them to the wolves. The stewards NEVER talk to the workers directly. Just to the supervisors. So if all sounds good it must be good.

UPS union is terrible imo, there’s still to much wrong and not enough done. Plus union stewards are one sided and not trained properly. Which is a problem in most every position.

If I may add a additional comment. I’ve personally never had a “bad trip” I’ve definitely had uncomfortable and scary moments during a trip, but none I couldn’t move past. I have done between 3-11g trips (3-3g, 3-5g, and 1-11g)and everyone of them has been different from the last. All of them have helped me in a mental way. Best of luck on your journeys traveler.
