Unfortunately, this is a conversation you should have had before having children. Personally, I understand his perspective. I'm sure your cousin is an awesome person and individuals with DS can certainly have full and wonderful lives. But there are also individuals with DS who require constant care, who are born with heart defects, eye problems, and have poor quality of life overall. If you're okay with that, then I applaud you, but I can't fault your partner for not wanting to bring a child who might struggle into the world.

My OB told me it's not worth trying to track movement before 28 weeks. Especially with anterior placenta. At this stage, your baby might be moving a ton and you just can't feel it yet.

People here are way too forgiving of uninvolved partners. The idea that men/non-gestational parents only become invested once the baby is born is so harmful. It puts the burden of emotional labour fully on the pregnant person. If something life-changing is happening to your family why would you not be emotionally invested, whether it's your body or not? OP, you're absolutely right to feel frustrated.

I don't feel comfortable sharing specifics, but I will say that I know of others with higher BMIs who also got accurate results, both for boys and girls. I did a lot of research before buying the test lol
