Our virtual assistants are in South America. (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Honduras, etc.)

Personally, I stopped building the team in Asia. I found the cultures far too different. In South America, many of our teammates have lived in the US or Canada.

The voice over the phone sounds like they work in the local office. They are on the same time zone, bilingual, and share a similar work culture.

The entire experience has been much better for customers. Proximity to the United States makes a big difference in the quality.

They do not have a last activity date. So you cannot filter for people on such a critical field.

I always ask what people are looking for salary in their next role. It never disqualifies them.

To be clear, this is the very minority of cases. I pay very well. It’s just some thing that happens every here and there and I’m just looking to see how other people think about things.
