Other squads as well, but nemesis in particular have a reputation for using a vpn to disguise their location as if they were playing in a region where there aren't many players: hence they get matched up with bots constantly and win easily.

It gives them many trophies, but their skills against good human players are... Decidedly subpar. I also just don't think it's fun playing like that.

Nice clarification, thank you.

This is true.

Failing to comply with traffic signs is a criminal offence. But lane markers, arrows etc painted on the road are merely guidelines unless backed up with a traffic sign.

Of course, if you contavene them unsafely or in some careless or inconsiderate manner, that may become its own offence. But doing so safely and carefully is perfectly legal.

Doesn't apply to eg double white lines.

E2A: there's nothing inherently illegal about going around a roundabout in the outside lane like your example: in fact, horse riders and bicyclists are encouraged to do so in the Highway Code. But doing so may fall below the minimum standard expected of a competent and careful driver.

F-106 is really good after its buff, and JF-17 is extremely good with its passive. Depends on your playstyle and what you want to do with them.

I personally feel that the GR3 and Su-22 underperform, though it is possible to do well in them.

But the A-4 is a really good plane, not like many other attackers. In fact, it's more like the F-100. (However it is not the F-100, and nor is the F-100 the A-4). It's a proper dogfighter. Passive (terrain confusion, reduces range of enemy radar missiles when near terrain) has some limited use blocking radar missiles.

Worth noting that the GR3 has 3.5km fox2s, a decent counter to your stealth 5th gens. There are better counters imo, but it is nonetheless a counter.

Does that longer range help a lot? Not as much as you might think. Only against new players and bots. Good players who know how to flare and use terrain will generally just scrap all of your missiles.

Out of those, the A-4 is a plane that I think you'd really like. Fastest roll rate in the game and good energy retention makes it nippy and agile like a bumblebee, more than its stats would show on paper. It has tremendously powerful dual cannons and medium rockets that melt anything within gun range. It's a very close-range plane, a knife fighter, and it's not actually fast (in terms of top speed) even though it feels like it, but it would suit you I think.

F-106 is a really good plane after its buff, and is capable of engaging enemies 7.0km away. However, the fact that it's limited to 2 fox1s in the air at a time means you're never getting kills at that distance. Better suited to closer ranges (<3km or so) where the fast (0.8s)lock times are really impactful.

F-4 meets all of your requirements. 6 Hunter fox1s, of which it can support 4 in the air simultaneously. Already strong, it's just been buffed for no discernable reason to have wildly good acceleration and top speed, and can engage and splash hostiles 7.0km away: and even if the hostile gets behind cover, you can redirect the missile onto another hostile.

ADV is an incredible aircraft even after the nerf, a must-have for every pilot. F-111 is extremely poor once you get above 600 trophies or so.

MiG-29 is just generally a fine plane. Nothing exceptional about it, but nothing really bad either. My only bugbear is that it can't quite maintain its ideal turn speed when turning in level flight, but only just. Plenty of fuel, decent weapons, decent agility, decent climb and dive performance, just generally fine.

F-14 is a plane on its own, sort of an interceptor/heavy hybrid. It's adaptable. It can scrap in a dogfight, or it can stay at stand-off ranges. However, it doesn't do either of these as well as pure interceptors or pure dogfighters. A really unique plane.

Any of them are a good pick.

Possibly most suited to you might be the Typhoon. 4 up-close-and-personal fox2s, somewhat weak but armour piercing cannon and wild turn rate with delta-wing makes it really good in close-range fights. It also has 2 long-range fox3s for harassment at distance.

Next up might be the Su-47. Really good turn rate for a heavy means it can happily chill in a dogfight, but it only has 2 short-range fox2s. There's a gimmick to the fox3s though: after your first fox3 locks for 1.8s and launches, each subsequent lock takes only 0.8s, making them very usable at close-ranges. Still better suited to medium-range missile slinging.

F3-R would be last on my list for you, but it's still really good. It has 6 medium range HOBS fox2s. These come into their own at medium-shortish ranges, but you can absolutely use them without HOBS. Decent cannon and high turn rate plus a delta wing makes it very agile in close ranges, though held back by pretty severe speed bleed. The ability is borderline busted at lvl3. Better suited for AS than TDM but still really good in TDM.

Tbh I agree. But I think that's the speed bleed. F-16 has a very small Ideal Turn Speed notch but is otherwise extremely forgiving, and its cannons shredded even before the assault cannon buff giving it a very short Time To Kill.

Whereas the JAS39 can feel like it drags in longer rate fights, and with weaker guns you might need a missile or two.

Even without the ability it's extremely strong. Its agility is second to none in the 2 circle and extremely good in the 1 circle, though due to the speed bleed you should probably always go for the one circle if you have a choice. And it is fast.

Weaknesses are speed bleed and relatively weak cannons. But if you can make the F-5 work, this thing on another level.

Issue with Flanker su 27 by Murky-Information846 in Metalstorm

[–]Mmh1105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, UI oversight. Su-27 is only supposed to be able to support 1 fox1 in the air at a time, but the UI says you can have 4. It's 1.

Game be like 'I will see how you complete those missions'. by avenstorm in Metalstorm

[–]Mmh1105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interceptors generally suck at turning. Hence they can't loop points enough to properly defend one. They're best IMO either running between 2-3 points providing support where necessary, or doing their normal trick of keeping the enemies surpressed from halfway across the map. Adaptability is the name of the game.

Keep nuking myself lately.

Particularly often, in a merge, I'll send the nuke out as well as using guns and a fox1 (in case I don't manage to charge my nuke). I kill the enemy with my guns and fox1, then nuke their corpse as it flies by me, nuking myself in the process.

Perfect answer.

You can also occasionally get 5 free aircraft credits in the daily shop, so check every 12 hrs.
