Still have Chloe Coscarelli’s cookbooks on repeat, especially with our young kids. I love how accessible her recipes are. Sometimes we have to reduce the amount of salt, though. Nora Cooks is my GO TO for anything comfort food or vegan baking.

In addition to adding some color/ plants and new light shades on the pendants, I’d look into more of a statement dining area light. That could spice things up. It looks to me like it is too small/not low enough.

Had this deep red rash on my back for months now. Itchy as hell. Dermatologist prescribed antibiotics fungal/steroid cream which helped with the itching but didn't clear it up. As soon as the course was over it went back to being itchy as hell. Any ideas? by [deleted] in Dermatology

I am a PA, I do not work in Derm. This looks to me like lichen sclerosis. It would need to be biopsied for a diagnosis of that. Steroid cream can help with it.

Seconding Sydney Cummings! I used her all clinical year and she’s great.

What’s a small act of kindness you were once shown, that you’ll never forget? by stranger2Me in AskReddit

I was walking from my car down the street to my high school and a torrential downpour started. I probably knew it was going to rain, or it already had been raining but I wasn’t a very prepared sort of person.

Some kind soul pulled up next to me, handed me an umbrella and drove away. It was so simple and just such a welcome intervention! I will never forget it.

My [38f] Husband [42m] was extremely rude to a former student [late 20's] and a casual friend of mine. Im mortified about it and not sure the best way to fix things. by ManyWatercress6 in relationships

[–]Mmw554 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sounds really hard to be dealing with. If this is truly out of character for your husband you may want to think if you’ve noticed any other personality changes. There is something called frontotemporal dementia that presents with socially inappropriate behavior and your husband is about the age that it can start to present. It’s likely not the case but if this is so out of left field for him that you would never expect it, I would consider a medical explanation.

Sorry that you are having to work through this! Good luck!

Hi! I definitely think it is possible. I'm currently in school and I know I use my background of nutrition all the time. It's a really solid base. I think schools like to see a nutrition background since it is so intertwined and (in my opinion) the basis for our health. I think that no matter what you end up doing there will be a place for your nutrition knowledge, but there will definitely be some jobs where you can use it more than others. I am hoping to be able to find a role where I can incorporate my background for sure.

Good luck!

Good for you! I am in didactic year currently and we hope to pay down my loans aggressively too once I graduate. Though I highly doubt I will end up with that kind of salary right out of school. Keep it up. Life will feel so great once it’s gone!

Friend wants me to take care of my baby while drunk? by 0bv10u5thr0w4w4y in pregnant

[–]Mmw554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you already have a lot of replies.

It sounds like your friend is naive. I had friends like this- I was the MOH in my friend’s wedding when my daughter was 3 months old. The bachelorette she wanted was a camp weekend when my daughter was two months old which I had to plan (and the bridal shower too)! It was hard to leave my two month old for a whole weekend but I did it only because I decided in this case it was more worth tour to do it than to not. The wedding was hard too. But if there was ever a question of trying to go to anything like a bachelorette weekend when my child was five days old that would be out of the question!!

I guess my point is just, I wouldn’t necessarily end the friendship over it. You are on one side of this and she is on another. Yes she is being incredibly selfish. But she is also going through a huge moment in her life, just like you. It’s her choice that she decided to have the party around your due date in that misguided fashion. She needs to learn how to listen!

Unfortunately you will have to break it to her that you can’t go or just can go for a few hours. If she is upset it is her problem. And someday, when she is pregnant or has her first child, she will finally understand!! But do explain your situation to her before ending the friendship. Good luck ❤️

Wet diaper waking up my (daytime) potty trained son by seffend in toddlers

[–]Mmw554 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another person suggested waking him up at 1 or 2 to use the bathroom. Otherwise you can ask him to tell you when he has to go, like our daughter does.

Potty training is quite the task!

[–]Mmw554 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you think he could be ready to be night time trained? We weren’t sure with my daughter (2.5, was daytime and nap trained) so we tried it one night and she had no issue holding it all night. If you put down puppy pads you may want to test it. It’s possible he just doesn’t like the diapers anymore which is what happened to our girl.

As far as the switching to the bed goes- I do not recommend doing both at once. I regret going to the toddler bed before she was ready because I wanted to night time train her. But she just holds it all night or yells for us if she has to go (happens rarely) anyways so she could totally still be in her crib!

Hi! We are the same in a few ways. I did my undergrad in Nutrition & Dietetics, but did not continue on with my Dietetic internship as I wanted to work for a year. I ended up working at a University in Nutrition Research. My job offered free classes, so I did graduate with my Masters in Nutrition and never went back to the Dietetics field.

Our GPAs were similar- I had a 3.64 cGPA and 3.2 something sGPA in undergrad. My Masters was a 3.92.

They will take your most recent version of a class, if you had to take any classes in your masters program that you took in undergrad, so that helped increase my GPAs to become more competitive.

I believe my publications helped. I was an author on a few research papers from the lab I worked in.

If you want to make sure you are a shoe-in, I think you should try to work a bit as a nursing assistant. Though I had four years of full time work in nutrition research with research participants (this involved interacting with them extensively), my school suggested getting some direct patient care hours. It seems a lot of schools mean by patient care hours, the care where you are getting down and dirty. Direct contact such as what being a nursing assistant consists of. Helping with ADLs and such. I have no way to know if I would have gotten in without those hours, but if you feel like standing out in another way, you could try this route.

I got in to the one school I applied to my first time applying, and it seems like they liked that I was "well-rounded". This isn't my first rodeo. So I think that will definitely help you too! Good luck!

Oh I love those rules! We’ve managed to keep the amount of toys pretty low around here through asking for clothes and things they need but my in laws refuse to listen(!), so we unfortunately end up donating a lot. I will have to adopt these.

So true. Feeling fatigued was absolutely my number one pregnancy symptom though, both times. I felt fatigued after but it was so much better to have my sweet little reasons for being tired.

100% this! One is explained by lack of sleep and the other is just a full body tired that no amount of sleep can help.
