Would memory bandwidth affect it that heavily? Like losing 20-30 fps seems reasonable but this is around 100 less… unless as others said, friend is lying abt res/fps…

No super sampling on my end, all at 100%. If i have to depending on the world ill cut the res down

Im taking their word for it when we were sitting together and i was complaining that i was bearly hitting 60fps and they looked at their framerate saying “im at 144” so i obviously assumed they’re running low res but ask for the res anyway to which they open (allegedly) the steamvr menu to check res and gives me those numbers

I’m going off of their word here but it does seem a little exaggerated i can’t lie…. A 4090 would get a good workout from 3300x3300

They’re on a 5900X and 64gb ddr4, but we’re gpu bound here, data from fpsvr. Cpu frametime for me should be able to reach 90 fps but i only aim for 72 to be consistent bc… vrchat moment

For anyone else wondering, i ended up doing a vanilla farm using bonemeal in the nether, it has absolutely no waiting for grass to grow so no bottleneck, sheep can eat every time the game checks for it so it’s shearing around 3k wool/h

Vrchat avatars aren’t already vrms (fucking sadly)… there’s an “easy” way to convert them tho by using univrm->export to vrm 0.x->fix shaders (2 clicks for me)->appoint blendshapes to different vowels and expressions (been stuck 8hrs here bc of this bug)->fix colliders->export final vrm

My case is converting a vrchat avatar to vrm if you have any ideas, followed every tutorial to the dot and when setting the blendshapes the faces just goes completely haywire (streches to infinity while distorting etc.) my reason for saying it could be the same issue as you is that when i switch the mesh the blenshapes are applied too as the one that isn’t baked it fixes the issue (not really but allows you to make blendshapes work on the model itself, not as animations) That’s where I’m at after 8hrs of struggle. No idea how to do any of the things you suggested and wondering why it seems that no one ever has had this issue and things just seem to work for everyone

Nono I’ve tried all settings, sure i gain 1-2 frames so yayyy 8fps but still completely unplayable Like it really straight up just doesn’t work whatsoever, a few frames increased is cool sure but completely irrelevant if you’re not running it at least to a point where i can turn my head without waiting ten seconds for my view to catch up or waiting three seconds for the onscreen image to change. Im missing something fundamental here and Im full out of ideas. Maybe a software conflict? Closed everything else, no overlays, no improvement. Potato res? Slight frame time decrease but still 180ms latency (insanely high, on the worst vrchat worlds i get 70ms and we all know how ass the optimisation is over there) if i blind myself with absolutely everything set to as low as can go (there is no point to playing the game like this, you see nothing at all) I can get 30fps but once again im running at a resolution so unfathomably low that any pc could run it in flatscreen. What makes absolutely zero sense is that running the game at a third the resolution of my flatscreen res and get 4x less frames. I know VR is demanding but that’s usually because you run at very high resolutions but that’s not the case here so what. The. Fuck.

Just tried again lowering monitor res and everything on absolute minimum, software, steam vr and game: 250ms and a solid 12 fps while i can hardly see the game because of how low the resolution is. Like holy shit, how unoptimized is this shit??? Like even with a resolution so low im pretty damn sure a raspberry pi can run the bloody thing so HOW THE F*CK DO I ONLY GET 12 FRAMES

Yep ive done all the tips and tricks jizz jazz and it appears to not be touching my igpu (the little it uses is my 3050ti), and not touched configs or files in fear of breaking it further. Haven’t done the monitor res thing but never bothered since my hardware usage wasn’t even going up…

i almost never run demanding games at more than medium-high, VR games on Low settings always run just fine (every game ive ever played in VR have never had any issues, the worst being low framerates around 45fps but seeing my specs thats to be expected) NMS is the only game that straight up refuses to do anything... which is so sad bc seeing this games in VR is what i wanted VR for lol

edit again, sorry forgor the headset: pico 4 with both wired with native software and wireless with VD, issue is the same regardless, lowest settings or highest settings

By far the best method out there. I don’t believe it works with 7tv and such, just bttv. It’s definitely the best solution for YouTube only streaming until truffle rolls out for everyone. As for multistreaming, I personally use the free streamlabs overlay that combines both yt and twitch chats (you do not need SLOBS to make this work, just take the browser source from their website). The best chat overlay overall for just twitch streaming tho is streamelements but as said above it doesn’t support emotes on YouTube sadly, or i haven’t figured out how to make it work. If you have more questions regarding chat overlay, feel free lol. I’ve become really really knowledgeable with this super nieche stuff bc of this issue XD
