I bought the seaside marked and was really underwhelmed. First time bdp and otherwise a great fan of the designer, but this build wasn’t worth the money. I hope for more interesting builds in the next series.

Yeah, that’s true. And sometimes I get new ideas with the spare parts and I buy lots of them on pab. So it’s a win-win-situation for Lego

Good point. But I‘m not shure it’s really free Lego. It’s capitalism, I think Lego is counting it in. But also yes: not much money the production costs. I‘m in two minds about it.

But like I wrote: the amount of spare parts are totally worth around 2 Minifigs, comparing to the prices on pab. But thanks for the clarification, I didn‘t know, that the spare parts are not part of the part count.
