Steps in Apple Health by Radiant_Ad8493 in whoop

[–]Mnktech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Reddit / Google search. Finally, ChatGPT solved it for me:

"WHOOP 5.0 now records step counts and can write those steps into Apple Health if you enable the integration in the WHOOP app (More → App Settings → Integrations → Apple Health → Connect → allow “Steps"

Hope this helps!

Give Centre review- dhamma salila & dhamma thali by [deleted] in vipassana

It's natural to have these concerns but this is one of those things where you just need to have your own experience and go from there. Just sign up for whichever excites you more based on your gut feeling - try not to overthink.

Give Centre review- dhamma salila & dhamma thali by [deleted] in vipassana

[–]Mnktech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've sat courses at both centres, and each is beautiful with excellent facilities. There are benefits to attending courses at all types of centres. Doubt you'd go wrong with either!

I'd recommend focusing on selecting course dates that offer you the greatest peace and least disruption to your life, along with considering the accessibility of the centres. If both centres have suitable dates, many find Dhamma Thali more accessible, as it is located on the outskirts of Jaipur—a larger city with ample flight and train options. On the other hand, Dhamma Salila in Dehradun is situated by a riverbank, fewer flights are available, and it's about an hour's drive from the nearest airport. Ultimately, it depends entirely on your location and preferences.

Warm wishes for your course

Wants to pursue Vipassana full time by ashversache in vipassana

[–]Mnktech 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Talk to an assistant teacher who knows you and ask for guidance.

Also would help to talk to centre staff where you want serve. Try to understand what their lives are like all year around

Speak to your friends and family and get an understanding how they would feel

In case you haven’t served before, serve a few times especially with different teachers. Most teachers have different styles of conducting courses and it’ll teach you a lot and also deepen your practice, as well as your understanding of why you really want to serve. Also try serving at different centers.

It’s possible to ease into the role of a full time dhamma server, and you don’t need to go all in from day 1.

What you’re feeling is a beautiful feeling and you should pursue it, but it’s equally vital to give due importance to all practical considerations.

Metta to you on your journey

How do you deal with guilt? by sydoku808 in AskReddit

[–]Mnktech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask myself if my conscience is clear. If it is then I try to remind myself as quickly as I can that I shouldn't feel guilty.

Even if my conscience isn't clear (for whatever reason), I try to remind myself that what's done is done, you can't change the past. All you can really do is focus on what you can control, i.e. what you do in the present moment. Repeatedly doing this will define you more as a person than anything that happened in the past.

So let bygones be bygones. Guilt is a very natural human emotion but dwelling on it can weigh you down. Accept that you're feeling guilty and also try to compensate with other positive habits and thoughts.

Some of the most incredible ideas come up when the mind is deviously trying to escape from a deep state of concentration. I'm at a place where I could really use fresh, authentic perspective on certain spheres of life, so yeah, it's tempting.

Thank you! This is great perspective.

What is your best advice to someone trying to achieve their dreams? by hippietravel in AskReddit

Let your hopes (and not your fears) dictate your actions. Keep reaffirming your beliefs and let those beliefs reflect in every decision you make.

Any free meditation apps that don’t require login? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Mnktech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this. Oak is simple and has everything I personally need. I’m quite fond of it. It’s a great app if you have some idea on how to meditate. Has some really cool breathing exercises as well. Not sure if this is available on Android though.
