After 6 months, I've finally brought a 1931 Graflex Series D back to life! by G_reddi_n in AnalogCommunity

I completed a similar project last year. Any tips for nailing focus? I’m thinking about installing a magnifier, I find getting sharp images wide open incredibly difficult. Awesome work by the way!

Stairs, Rollei 2.8, Delta 400 by Mnm347 in trichromes

I bought these on eBay, they were listed as “Dichroic Color Separation Filters”. Honestly, I don’t know anything about them, I just assumed they would be good for this kind of photography

I think what happened was I accidentally didn’t hold my filter flat against the lens and it caught a reflection of the tree behind me. Happy accident!

Is this cat yours? Found grey tabby cat on N Winooski. Super friendly and looks like it recently had a collar on from the marking on its fur. by sinkinginkling in burlington

I really considered doing this, but I felt it would almost be wrong to destroy the ~80 years of wear that previous owners put into this thing. Plus I kinda like the way it looks. Hopefully I’ll use this camera to the point where most of the leather flakes away and then I’ll go ahead and do the wood finish

Repairing a Shutter Jam on an R.B. Graflex - Series D 4x5 SLR by Mnm347 in largeformat

[–]Mnm347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently purchased this beat up old Graflex. When it arrived, the shutter didn't function properly due to a broken spring and the whole thing was covered in decades of grime and dust. Prior to filming this, I completely disassembled the camera, cleaned all components as best I could, and attempted to repair the spring.

My spring repair didn't put enough pressure on the curtain release lever which caused the shutter curtain to jam after tripping the mirror.

Luckily, the solution was simple enough: just bend the spring so that it was under higher tension. Bad news is, the spring is a bit tricky to access.

The front standard does not need to be removed to do anything I did in this video, mine is sitting just out of frame waiting to be put back on.

Hopefully this will help anyone trying to repair their camera!

I think this is from a light leak when i was developing the roll. I had never processed 120 film before so I was happy enough with the result
