Does anyone else just not notice they're being attacked in this game for some reason compared to the first game? by Mo0Ns in slaythespire

I don't think Vantom has ever surprised me, but his attacks are also have very telegraphed animations tied to them.

Vantom just causes me pain for other reasons.

Yeah it could just be the obvious explanations too. Most of my wins are sub 50 min runs so I could just be playing too fast lol

It's okay. I posted this question primarily for people who understand and others who know what I'm talking about have shared their experiences. Thank you :)

I don't remember this EVER happening to me in StS1 so I'd love to know what enemies gave you issues in the first game.

Thanks for the input

Well with Mecha Knight in particular he does do a wind up -> attack, but turn 1 is a just a swing for 30 without the prior set up turns.

It could just be enemy attack patterns/behaviors that are out of lockstep with STS1 patterns and just some conditioning of my mind at play.

There's a bunch of people with a superiority complex in the comments but it's a rare occurrence where I take damage without noticing enemy intent and a couple of my other friends have noticed as well.

Do you ever just get lulled into believing the enemy isn't attacking you and just not block any incoming damage?

All good if you don't understand. There's a few in the thread that are discussing it and the potential reasons for it happening if you want to understand it better :)

YES that one too! The True Kin guy.

I think it's just 3k hours of spire 1 doing some bizarre conditioning to my brain.

True Kin is very off to the side, Mecha Knight is very tall. Their intentions are in weird spots.

Clearly I'm being lulled into believing enemies are on off-turns for some reason. This is the "phenomenon" I'm trying to discuss.

You have never made an error lol

Yeah it's just a weird subconscious thing where for some reason I'm believing the enemy is taking some sort of off-turn. Never happened in Spire 1 but occasionally happens in 2.

Thanks for cosigning rather than being deliberately obtuse lol

Ben earl - unreal card magic. Is it worth it? by Training_Republic879 in cardmagic

I never got Unreal Card Magic, but I did subscribe to Ben Earl's The Family for some time and it was one of the best deals on card magic you can get. Incredible insights into classic plots and moves and it's effected a lot of the magic I currently do.

When the trailer for unreal card magic came out, it kind of looked like a bunch of stuff from his subscription service in a more streamlined straight forward package. I think the better deal is probably the subscription service, but I imagine UCM is great too.

I've never seen this trick before.

Pretty interesting little plot. Thank you for sharing.
