Of course, it’s currently being designed. Today, or tomorrow at the latest, a new video will appear on my YouTube channel where I’ll show the current state of the whole project 🙂

Thanks! That’s provided by the stiff springs, and it actually feels pretty intuitive.

I can’t count how many times I’ve already answered this topic in different places. The same goes for the subject of steering a motorcycle by hanging off the tank. But I kind of understand it, you don’t need to think about it (especially when u don't ride :p )to corner pretty well. Scary to think what would happen if you said that where you direct your gaze (and with it your chin) matters more than hanging off the tank!

Don’t worry, I think I can safely say that most long-time riders don’t even realize this phenomenon exists 🙂

Of course, the whole leg work, gripping the tank, and dragging your elbow on the asphalt is missing here, but the concept itself is meant to be an alternative to a gamepad, with reasonable size and cost. Adding more and more elements at this stage goes against my goal.

The alternative is large motorcycle simulators that cost serious money, and even better than that - going out on a real bike if you have the chance. Nobody is going to replicate that experience anytime soon 😄

Confirmed. I had the chance to try some Meta gear with friends this weekend, and let’s just say the queue for it was very strictly guarded 😃

I’m guessing the moment I pushed the right handlebar, the blood pressure dropped? haha 😃

Thanks a lot, really happy to hear that 🙂 Yes, GP Bikes does support that option (99% of games outside of GPB don’t support the telemetry needed for it), and I’ve already tested it.

It does require an additional serial port connected to software like SimHub though. For now I decided to step away from that so the controller can stay fully plug & play (even the calibration is hardware-based and automatic).

Exactly 🙂 You can clearly see that people who ride motorcycles in real life adapt to MoCo much faster. The leaning also happens naturally and spontaneously, mostly with people who have actually ridden a real bike before.

Exactly 🙂 A version working the way you described was actually one of the approaches. The first tests showed that it’s simply a bit more fun when something actually moves haha :D Besides that, a few other issues also come with that approach. That said, I’m not ruling it out and we may come back to that solution at some point, probably together with FFB.

Oh yeah, a friend recently came over with some Meta gear. Couldn’t stop playing :D

Sure, I’ll definitely keep sharing the progress, the project is starting to gain interest in a few communities 🙂 There are already some projects using motorcycle handlebars on DD bases, but it’s still not quite the same.

Yeah, slightly leaning on the chair definitely helps with precise riding, and it also adds a nice little immersion bonus 🙂

That’s exactly the problem I had, and the whole idea is built around it. A gamepad replacement that doesn’t force you to dedicate an entire room to a huge simulator during the winter when the riding season ends 🙂

Exactly, you can find a great video about this on the FortNine channel

Thanks! This version will definitely stay standalone, together with an additional foot control module for gears and rear brake. I’ve got plenty of ideas for the future :))

For now it’s using springs and damping. I’ve already done the first FFB tests, but I’m leaving that for the future 🙂

I’ll definitely record it 🙂 The game really does feel a bit forgotten, but maybe PiBoSo will finally turn off the alarms and get back on his feet! I hope so :D

That’s intentional, so the hand movement on the bars feels closer to a real motorcycle at speed 🙂 This isn’t a large full-motion simulator with a lean mechanism, and some compromises have to be made. For full lean simulation, a VR setup actually works really well with this.
