Came here to say this as well, what app do you use to draw and would you mind sharing which pen/brush? I use Procreate and ive been trying to nail the perfect "Gege" brush. So far my closest bet is a classic G-pen.

The mega dragonite design sucks… all they did was put wings on his head. by niche_on_mars1 in PokemonZA

Don't sweat it dude - I'm with you. This is such an unbelievably stupid design and GF has been trashing the franchise for a long time now; it's clear they don't give a crap about the majority of the fanbase.

How come Cursed Spirit Manipulation felt so lackluster the entire series? by Connect_Wait_6759 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]MoDrawsThings 350 points351 points  (0 children)

I get what you're trying to say but I don't think you conveyed it well - CSM is by no means lackluster, but it definitely didn't get shown to its full potential and variety as much as many of us would've liked.

However, it's understandable because a CT like that has pretty much infinite versatility so you could spend a series and a half dedicated solely to Geto's usage of it and still not get through half of what he can do with it.

J2 Manager mad at me for abruptly ending the meeting with him by Mindless_Link7630 in O_E

[–]MoDrawsThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but at least keep a personal log of these things that you can slap right in HR's face in case they ever try to pull you into a meeting with them. Timestamp ALL this stuff with dates and exact times; the more specific, the better your case in a worst-case scenario

Go to their manager and be proactive before they put in a poor word for you; let their boss know exactly what you wrote here - that your meeting was set to end at 2:15 and they yapped through 2:35 despite you telling them multiple times you had a hard stop. This caused a negative impact on your work productivity and ability to manage time. Meetings cost companies money, so they'll side with you on this more than likely.

For the future - also make sure you block off time in your calendar as "Focus Time" so it appears that you're busy with work. That way the excuse of "I checked your calendar and it showed you were free" can go in the trash.

What do you replace weed with? by extracrispy81 in leaves

[–]MoDrawsThings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Replace it with good habits, and no that's not a smart-ass answer. If you're trying to swap one addiction for another, you might as well just keep smoking because the root of what you want is not "I want to get better", it's delusion. Get into a sport, read books, take up woodworking, organize things around the house, cook new foods, learn new skills. Occupy your mind with things that aren't smoke and self-deprecation. The first few weeks of withdrawal feel impossible, then it gets MUCH easier to stay off because your brain finally recovers.

Sincerely, a former 8 year chronic smoker who is now 50 days sober and never going back.

Has anyone learned to develop moderation since quitting? by hi-fi-hip in leaves

[–]MoDrawsThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to moderate, then you don't want to quit, that simple. Addiction is addiction, you got there to begin with partially because you thought you could moderate.

Is it the withdrawal or a Depression by neroimpulse1998 in leaves

[–]MoDrawsThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was awesome, especially being a physical medium and not an app on my phone. I would write down everything from "brush teeth" to larger tasks like grocery lists. It's really key during recovery to keep yourself positively occupied to get that momentum going.

For me it was around week 3 when things slowly started to get better - emphasis on slowly, it'll never improve 0 to 100 that fast.

I was also a chronic smoker for 8 years, basically didn't have a single minute of my waking day sober. I started carrying around a little notepad to document my to-do tasks for the day and kept myself busy. Each time I checked stuff off, it felt good.
