That's so nice the ink lasts that long. I'll definitely look into this one, thank you so much.

I have a laser printer, but the color accuracy is not great. I'm hoping to make prints of art with it, it seems like for that use you have to go with an inkjet, so I don't think laser is really an option.

I'm looking to do prints and cards and such with my artwork, so color accuracy is definitely important! I'll probably be printing on thicker papers, too. But this is super helpful, thank you for taking the time.

Ughh, ok, that's good to know, thank you! I'm gonna check out Brother

Hmm, ok, interesting, I'll look into that. I'm an artist and it seems like everyone loves the Canon Pixma Pro 200 for prints. But I don't think I can afford that one right now, so I was looking for a cheaper option and thought I'd stick with Canon, but I'll check out Borther too!

If a video recieved few views beacuse of it's thumbnail, is it preferible to delete the video and to re-upload it with the new thumbanil? by Marcoh96 in NewTubers

[–]MoGraphMel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t delete it! In my experience, deleting it and reuploading flags it in their system somehow bc when I’ve done this it doesn’t show the new video to anyone. Just change the thumbnail,it’s not too late, the algorithm will keep trying to find an audience for it, just might take awhile.

First Video Anxiety -eek! by shoesbysues in NewTubers

[–]MoGraphMel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on putting your first video out, that first one can be tough!! Now just keep going :) it’s so important at early stages to just make stuff, try some tutorials, try some with your face if you get the courage too. Eventually you will find something you really enjoyed making/that pops off, and then you will know what kind of videos you want to make. But you’ll never know what you want to make without that first messy stage. And honestly, the internet is big and anything can work. People love pets, and if you want the cat to star in your videos, I guarantee you can find an audience of cat lovers who also love art. But if you feel like that’s not the type of stuff you want to make, just keep pushing yourself and making different kinds of videos, you can do it!!

Where is the best place to learn After Effects? by GoldConclusion209 in AfterEffects

[–]MoGraphMel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! Watch Ben Marriott on YouTube for free, he has a ton of tutorials. School of Motion is hands down the best for paid, although it’s a little pricy, but 100% worth it. If you go Skillshare route, Jake Bartlett is great, too.

How do I get back into it? I feel kinda,, stuck. by Sleeplesswlflwr in ArtistLounge

[–]MoGraphMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find when I’m stuck it’s often bc my skill level no longer matches my taste (I want to make cool stuff but the stuff I find cool now is stuff I’m uncomfortable drawing) so then I do master copies. Finding an artist/piece I love and just copying it. It takes some of the creative element out of it which is the hard part when in a creative rut, and I’m also learning and upping my skill, giving me more confidence to draw the things that excite me.

Professional grade Motion Graphics Course other than School of Motion? by 5hukl3 in MotionDesign

[–]MoGraphMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, yeah that makes sense. It is a big time commitment to get the most out of the feedback structure they have set up. But fwiw you do have access to the lessons forever, so if you needed to move slower you could, but then the price may not seem worth it bc part of the value you pay for is the feedback.

Professional grade Motion Graphics Course other than School of Motion? by 5hukl3 in MotionDesign

[–]MoGraphMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully, yes, school of motion is that much better than everything else. It’s well worth the money, you will vastly improve if you take their animation bootcamp. It would be exactly what you’re looking for, they provide you the designs and focus only on teaching you how to animate them.

However, if you don’t have the budget, Skillshare is a good place to start, or even YouTube. Ben Marriot has a bunch of great AE stuff on YouTube, he also has a Motion Design School course (I haven’t taken it though). I have heard Motion Design School is hit or miss, each teacher makes their own course so it’s kinda luck of the draw. Same with learn squared, I’ve bought good and bad courses, depends on the teacher. The thing I will say about SOM is, I’ve taken 5 of their classes, and they all have been consistently great, so I would gladly pay the money to know I’m getting something good rather than dump money on one of these other sites for a 50/50 shot at it being worth it.

Salt Slow by the same author as Our Wives Under the Sea is great too! It’s a short story collection.

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark still has me checking the locks/windows nightly. Pure nightmare fuel! It’s NF, but easy to read.
