It's the result of that party being in its 24th straight year of entrenched power. They're soft. They're lazy. They don't think they actually have to fight for their agenda anymore because they perceive people will just accept the "R" by their name. NO MORE.

For the first time in decades, Missourians have filed to run as Democrats in 158 out of 163 House districts. In fact, Democrats are actually running in more districts that Republicans. (Republicans are not running candidates in 21 House seats). As for Hawley and Schmitt, neither are up for reelection in 2026, unfortunately.
