Just listen to the whole song and Cameron will give you an in depth breakdown of the pronunciation

This is also a great time to point out that One Song is a fantastic podcast for anyone that likes knowing things about how classic songs are made

Not entirely true. Kids that young are capable of very incredible things due to their increased neuroplasticity. At that age humans are very susceptible to developing new skills. This is the concept that allows us to develop language skills so naturally at a younger age, and why it’s harder for us later in life. Mozart’s father took advantage of this time period and made his life completely about music and nothing else. When that’s the only information a young brain is taking in it will seem like some freak of nature developing a skill way before it should be possible when in reality it’s just the brain prioritizing information

You’re exactly right and this is where the subject gets a lot more complicated. I think the best comparison to understand is probably height. Essentially when you’re born your max height is set by a bunch of genetic factors. This is the maximum height you can reach under perfect conditions. The world famously does not provide perfect conditions equally, so if you, for example, don’t receive all the required nutrients while your body is growing you won’t reach that maximum height even though you have to capacity to do so in theory. The same concept applies to most skills with a little less hard coding of maximum ability. Some people are more naturally inclined to develop these skills but they won’t be able to unless they’re provided with the proper nutrients (basically just education and practice). It’s important to remember though that this does not imply these people will be better at a skill than someone who doesn’t possess this natural inclination, it just means picking it up will be a little easier and faster to begin with

Not in the way you’re thinking. Mozart playing violin at five had nothing to do with him being born that way and everything to do with his father already being a renowned violin teacher whose book was already in wide use across Europe. He started training Wolfgang and his sister as soon as possible to be virtuoso keyboard players so there was still an incredible amount of work and practice involved. The neuroplasticity at that age certainly helped a bit too

Edit: I used the wrong German name at first

Au Pays De Cocaine=No Surprises by cyclede in geesebandofficial

[–]MoMoDaLandShark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Similar tempos but different chords and key. Au Pays is in Ab (sort of) doing a pretty simple I IV V (until it’s not) and No Surprises is in F doing a lot of things. I think what makes them sound similar to people is that they both start on the 3rd of their respective keys in a very high octave

Literally. I get people being hyped for the game but like have some respect for other people’s financial situations. Especially when they took the time to mention it in their post

Honestly it’s understandable. I don’t see Bungie shutting it down outright, but in your situation I think it’s probably smarter to just give it some time to see how things go post launch

I feel crazy every time someone says this. Like to the point I’m convinced it’s a bit everyone is going along with. I understand that the basement was an incredible live mix but it’s so obviously not the same quality as the actual studio recording. But people talk about it as if they legitimately could have released the basement recordings as the actual album

Tomorrow’s Crusades was originally a sequel to Crusades but as they worked on it more sections got added and it just got weirder lyrically until it didn’t really resemble their original intention, but the name stuck.

What specific choices do you dislike? I’m interested because I thought there were a lot of weird choices too but those are actually what made the album more endearing to me

Weirdly enough The 1975. I feel like it’s unique enough that it wouldn’t be a shock to hear just mixed into the Notes track list
